I basically just go on when I have a question that I figure I have a better chance of being answered quickly there as compared to here. It's too big, and doesn't have the same feel as this forum does.

I had my bird walk and nature club this morning. I knew that we had another family that was talking about coming, but wasn't overly worried. We had started a craft project last month, and I had made a couple of extras so if we had any extra kids, they wouldn't be left out. Well, the county has a paper that they put out quarterly. And they normally list activities from the Nature Center. The Nature Center also puts out a newsletter quarterly, but at this time of the year, we no longer advertise the club since we're winding down for the year. And, since we take a couple of trips and I don't want kids coming for just the trips, we stop advertising. Well, the club was advertised anyway. According to what they had in the paper, there was a nature walk and a craft. But, they were also told to call the nature center to preregister. That one family showed up-as well as 7 other kids! I now had 9 extra children, and no craft for them to do! :he Plus, they were expecting to go for a walk! :th

My plan for today was to finish the craft since it needed to dry B4 the kids could take them home. Then, the regular 4-H stuff, then the lesson, then an Easter Egg hunt, and that was it. Everyone chose to stay, so the new kids were given paper and crayons, and told we had been learning about the shore and to draw a picture. We managed to get thru the meeting and thru the lesson. Some of the parents got the egg hunt all ready, but I could only let the kids get 4 eggs each-instead of the 6 or 7 they were supposed to get. The senior naturalist did take the kids that wanted to go for a walk for one, but I didn't go. I was beat! I don't know if all of them will come back, but I know that at least 2 of the families are planning on coming back, so in a way, it was good. Plus, the one family wanted to know about donating money to help pay for crafts, trips, etc! I got everything cleaned up, went to the farm, took care of everybody and went home! Instead of dong the work that I had planned on doing, I took a nap!

I did finally go out and did some wood, plus I cleaned up part of the yard. Tomorrow, we're supposed to go and pick up my new project! Providing we don't have any problems getting it home, I'll post some pics tomorrow!

Today was a long, tiring day. I've been cleaning the bedroom, and I basically feel like I'm making progress by inches. So, I worked on that for a bit, then made some breakfast and left for the farm. On the way there, my IBS hit so bad I was almost doubled over while driving. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do anything once I got there. Well, I hit the port-a-pot as soon as I got there, and did feel better.

I had decided that I was going to try and charge my battery up on the mower, so I hooked up the jumper cables between my truck and the mower, then got everyone fed, moved my RB feeder, let the chickens loose, then let the horses loose. I had gotten a new tire for the cart, so I put that on, then pumped up a tire that was low and tried to start the mower. No luck. So, I decided I was going to go ahead and put the insulation up in my shed. I didn't expect it to take that long. It took a lot longer than I was expecting! I tried off and on to start the mower, and never had any luck. So, I finally unhooked it and decided to take the battery home and charge it up. After every break, I went back to the insulation. I did not get all done, give Stormy his 2nd feeding, put out more hay and get everything back in the shed until almost 3:30. I had no lunch, so I was starved.

Got home, made myself some pancakes and took a bit of a break, then went out in the woods and did firewood. I didn't really feel like doing it, but I have my doctors' appointments tomorrow, then we're going to have bad weather on Wednesday, so I HAD to get it done. I worked until almost 6:00, then drove out, got the goats fed and started to get unloaded as well as get some cut for tonight. I finally got done around 7:00 and went and made a fire.

I get upstairs, all ready to take a shower then find something to eat when I got a big shock! This guy that LOOKS like my hubby did some DISHES!!!!!! :th :ep So, I was able to get my shower and relax for a bit. I'm beat. I'll be going to bed soon.

It wasn't pretty here. I'm tired of the wind. That takes a lot out of me when I need to be out in it.

Hubby still hasn't looked over the heater for me and I need to get my plants started in the greenhouse. I think I'm just going to start them in the house for now. Then hopefully, this weekend he'll have the heater done, and I can put them in my greenhouse. I also need to figure out a place to set up the incubator. I want to get that going so I'll (hopefully) have some chicks hatch by the end of the month. And, I'm hoping I can get some banty cochins at about the same time from TSC.

It was good-just long and tiring. I had almost a whole basket of clothes to iron. To give you an idea of how long it takes-my iron shuts off after 1 hour-even if I'm using it-it shut off on me. :/

Got that done, then got some breakfast and left. RU was away, so that meant I had horses to feed and hay to put out. Plus she had left me a message which I didn't get until this morning, otherwise, I would have left earlier. She hadn't put out hay for one group, but had a partial RB in the top of the barn. If I could get that out, that would hopefully last that herd until she got home. Plus, she had left Jesse (zebu bull) in the barn w/some horses and could I let him out? Plus, she wanted the door opened into the barn so the horses could go in and out. There's 2 doors out of the stalls, and they each open into a different field. But what she didn't tell me was that she wanted Jesse in the other field-not in w/that herd! :th

I get to the farm, and got started on my stuff. PT shows up to feed her group and care for a bunch of small animals. She stopped and told me she thought she saw a horse out. So, I go and look. Sure enough, there's a horse out. I catch her, go to lead her into the barn, and find that the gate out of the stall area is partway down. I have a feeling it was due to Jesse. I chased him out of the barn, and got the gate put back on, then go in the top of the barn to see if I could get this hay out. It wasn't easy-it wanted to unroll. I was finally able to get it so it was partially out the door. I didn't push it out. I was hoping I'd be able to spear it and keep the rest of it together.

Got everything done that I wanted to do, then went and got all of her horses fed, put hay out, filled water tanks, then went and put my chickens away, got changed and went to my Dr.s' appointments. Because of all the extra work I had to do, I left about an hour or so later than I wanted to. I JUST made it to the 2nd one on time. Then, I went home, got the animals fed, got some wood done and got the trash and recyclables out. Now, I'm relaxing and thinking about bed!

I had applied for a horse sitting job for this week. Even though I could have used the $300 it would have paid, I'm so glad I didn't get it! I would have been run ragged just getting all the horses taken care of at both farms! Plus, w/the forecast for tomorrow into Thursday, it would have meant doing a ton of driving in some really nasty weather.
