Today was NOT a nice day! It was rainy, windy and cold! I got all my horses fed, hung hay bags, got CL's and KN's horses fed, then went and fed RU's. There's only 6 that get feed, but I also had to put out hay for everybody. That was NOT fun! I called her last night, and was able to find out where she put the eye meds for the horses, so I was able to get that in. And, Jesse came back in the barn, so I was able to chase him out the other side. Of course, that means I'll have to keep an eye out for him when I put out hay. She has the hay in her horse trailer, and it's parked in her field.

Once I was done w/all of that, I went back in my tack shed and turned on the heater. I had a little bit of straitening up to do, so I did that and swept the floor. I also got the air mattress blown back up. But, the problem was, it was still cold in there. The one strip I put up I didn't have close enough to the door, so the wind was still coming in. I'm going to have to take the strip off, rip a new one since there's no way I can get the one off w/out destroying it, and put it on.

I had been going to wait until 12:00 or later to feed Stormy again, but it was just too cold! So, I fed him at 11:30, got everything done I needed to do B4 leaving and left. Went and did some shopping, then came home. It took me forever to warm up once I got here. But, I finally warmed up, did a ton of dishes, made 2 loaves of chocolate chip banana bread and some white bread.

When I went out to feed the goats, I found out that the wind basically destroyed the tarp over my hay shelter. The good one, it tore off. I had 2 old ones on as well. The one, it split. The other, was in the process of splitting. There was just no way I could do anything w/it then and we could get snow tonight. So, I went and got another tarp, and covered everything up the best I could. So, I know what I'll be doing this weekend. :/

Well, I found out how out of it I was when I did the goats yesterday. They had no water when I fed them tonight. I felt so bad.

I went to my Bible study today and I fit in w/this church so much better. We were asked if you had 20 minutes to take what you could out of your house, what would it be? One lady said her guns and ammo! Plus, I had someone ask for eggs. I had a dozen w/me! I've sold 3 dozen this week!

Got back to the farm, and had a ton of stuff to do for RU. It took forever. I was beat when I got home, and just didn't feel like doing anything. I finally managed to get some wood done, but that's it! Tomorrow is the last day I have to feed RU's horses. But, it won't be as hard. I'm hoping I can get my field cleaned again. It's going to depend on the weather. We could get some more rain/snow tomorrow. I'm so done w/winter. I want spring. :(

I am so not happy right now. Once again, it's snowing. I'm so sick of this weather. I had planned on getting my field all cleaned up. I have the battery on charge. I have the gas can in the back of the truck so I can get some gas for the mower. I have hay out for all the horses-except what I have to put out today because it's sbs. They were calling for just a chance of some light snow, but I didn't take it seriously. Well, it's snowing. :somad I don't know that it's supposed to get bad, but it could change to rain. So, it looks like I WON'T be cleaning the field-unless I add to Mt. Manure. I didn't want to do that, but I just might have to. :hit

Sorry Deb :hugs

It's 46 and sunny here :hide although I'm still looking at 3-4 inches of white stuff everywhere - I'm ready for it all to melt off! It doesn't help that our weather guy keeps saying "Last year, at this time, it was 60 degrees" :smack

It was a cold, miserable day all day. I hid in my tack shed as long as I could-even took a nap w/a kitty curled up on me. But, it wasn't the warmest in there, and I ran out of propane. :hit And, that was my last bottle. At least it's supposed to be warmer starting tomorrow.

I thought I wouldn't have to put hay out today for CL's horses. After all, I shoved the rest of the RB out of the top of the barn yesterday-there was quite a bit-and lugged it over to her horses. I'm not sure how long it took me, but I'm thinking it was close to an hour. And, I thought that would be enough to last them all of yesterday and today. Well, they were out! RU is supposed to be back today and getting more hay tomorrow. After I got hay out for everyone else, there was still 8 bales left in the trailer, so I lugged 4 bales over to her horses, cut the baling twine off and threw it over the fence for them. Don't know if it's enough for them or not, but I was too beat to take more over. Her hubby had to work today, so B4 I left, I had to let the dogs out of the house to do their business. And, I have to watch them. I couldn't just go in the house and get warmed up while I waited for them to get done-they like to wander. :barnie

Since they've now changed the forecast from what it was supposed to be today, I'm not going to be able to do any wood. So, I'll grab some from out of the wood shed. I'm hoping to get the rest of what I hauled home Monday done tomorrow. Then, I'll get another load on Monday. I think what I'm going to do from now on is get a load early in the week. I'll work for an hour on the wood like I've been doing. And, I'll put wood in the wood holder in the basement everyday. Then, once it's full, I'll spend the rest of the hour working on the wood I got when they cut it down for the electric. I'm thinking we're close enough to warmer weather for me to be able to do that, and this will give this wood time to season B4 next winter.

Since it was so nasty out, I've spend the day doing house work. And, I got one really big thing done, something I've dreaded doing for the last 2 months because it's hard to do by myself, but I know I'm not going to get help w/it. I took the Christmas tree down. I'm seriously thinking of getting a smaller tree next year. This one is 7.5 ft tall, and quite full. It's in 3 sections, and I can only manage to carry 1 section at a time. And, it doesn't fit in the box it came in. But, it's down. Wonder how long it will take hubby to notice? After all, it took him 2 months to notice I got a hair cut.

Good grief Deb, stop babying all these grown folks and make then do their own crap for a change or at least HELP :/ They take advantage of you, you know.

Sorry it was so cold today. We actually had a pretty ice day here around 50 with a slight breeze. I still lost my voice though

CL pays full board, plus she works, so she's not in charge of putting hay out for her horses. I get a reduced rate for helping-but I wasn't expecting to have to do all I had to do! Nor was RU. When she's gone for long periods, she pays me, so that helps. And, unless RU is away, I won't do anything for PT's horses. She's supposed to be caring for them herself, or if she's not able to make it (or decides NOT to come out), then RU or KN cares for them.

I've already told RU that we're hoping to start looking for our own farm next year. I'm hoping and praying we can.
