Boy did I get lucky! I have another cell, it's the one I use for the pony rides, but it was dead, and I couldn't find a charger. When my hubby got home, he had one w/him. He insisted that we had to go and pick up my bike. (It was getting new tires.) We didn't get my bike. It started to pour rain again! :rant :somad But, he had a charger that fit that phone, so while we were driving, I plugged in the phone and charged it up some. KN called, wanting to know why I wasn't answering my phone. I told her, so she tried to call it since she was near my tack shed. It wasn't in my tack shed.

Get home, and throw a few things in my back pack. We were going to a tack/horse auction last night, then I was spending the night in my tack shed. I didn't have time to get everything that I wanted. Figured I'd go via work and see if I left it in her house. It wasn't in her house. Great, just great. After I got done work yesterday, I had dug up some Johnny jump ups from along her one fence. And, w/the rain, there was no way I could now drive back there. It was just too wet. So, I walked thru the field. I tried calling the phone as I was walking. I got almost all the way down the fence line when I heard my phone ringing! In spite of all the rain that we got, my phone was still working. :th I couldn't believe it. I did have a few problems w/it last night, but after sitting in my truck all night on the charger, it seems to be fine. So, I guess I don't need to buy another one.

I can't believe it works!! Amira dumped a cup of tea on mine and it still works, though, and I was shocked at that....

I love Johnny jump ups, such a cute flower and so easy to spread around. I have to get some of those for here.

Last night, we went to a tack auction. There were a few things I was looking for, but if I didn't get them, it was no big deal. We went more just for the fun of it, and a chance to get out of the house. Other than a couple of lead ropes (you can never had too many leads!), I didn't get a thing I had hoped to get. I got a few things that, while nice to have, I didn't really need them. Then, the started to auction off some used saddles.

For some time now, I've been wanting a used English saddle. I don't ride English, but have wanted to learn for quite some time-especially since I want to jump Misty. (She jumps now, but not because I've told her to. It usually involves water. Need I say more?) Well, I ended up w/a used, English saddle for $25.00! It seems to be in pretty descent shape, but I have no idea if it will even fit her or not. But if it doesn't, I'll turn around and sell it on CL for more than I paid for it.

Today, I kind of took the day off. I went on a 2 hour trail ride on Misty. This was the best she's ever behaved. We had fun.

I am not a knowledgeable horse person, but TR is. He has taken English and Western lessons and went on a trail ride in Texas on a friend's large ranch. For a while he worked for a specialty construction company that built arenas, jumps, and such. The owner's wife and youngest son are into competitive equestrian jumper events. When TR worked for them, they had 12 horses and part of TR's job was to help care for them.

Sounds like you and Misty are getting to be quite the pair. :D

When we bought our farm, TR found a number of brand new leads and an old English saddle that were just left behind in the barn.

Keljonma, I hope we are! I've had her for just over 5 years now, and she's not as far along as I had hoped to have her. But, due to circumstances beyond my control, I haven't had the time to work w/her that I needed. The first year was great, I did a lot w/her, and had people shocked that 4 months after I got her (she was a 5 yo unhandled rescue) that I was actually sitting on her back-and she only bucked me off 1x. And that was my fault. I went too fast.

Since then, we've had all kinds of crazy weather, the farm was rearranged, and I had no place to ride her because sheds that were ordered didn't come in when promised, fencing had already been moved around, and there were horses in both the riding arena and the RP!

Now, things have calmed down a lot, so I hope to ride her more. I don't know that I'll ride her everyday-I also need to work w/Licorice and I'm not sure what I'm doing w/Stormy, but if I can ride her at least 1x between lessons every week, that will help. And of course, once I quit my job, I'll have more time for riding! :ya

Morning Sunshine! I love your member title but if I could give you a secondary title, I think it would be "riding out the storm". It just popped in my head now.

Hope you have a wonderful day.
