Remember that nice place in Ireland that I showed you? It went on live auction and got bids, so I thought it sold... It didn't! :ya I know, my bad, but this place is so much nicer than anything else I've seen over there that we can afford.

That dark patch in the right corner is bog. Can't do anything with it, except cut it and sell it for fuel ;)

We had another property view on our place yesterday and I'm hoping the agent will have some good news for us soon. As soon as we have a committed buyer, I'm going to phone the agent that has this place listed and see if they'll deal.

@sumi, we looked and looked before finding our place that we are moving to. We had some land and started talking to people we knew about buying it, and things just fell into place. One of the people we told about it, bought it. We were able to cover all the horrible (and costly) things that went wrong because of the money we got from selling the land. Now we are trying to sell our current house ourselves. If it is to be, it will happen. Oh, and our air conditioning unit died yesterday and we had to lay out $1800 for another. I added onto my Call 1-800-COM-PLAIN thread.

That cottage is so neat. It is clean, modern and ready to move into. And 11.5 acres? That just has to be yours! I truly hope that you sell your house soon and can buy this cottage.

There is a Swedish based company that sells ready-to-assemble furniture and home accessories. One of the displays is tiny spaces. They set up tiny house designs in their stores. Ikea is the master of space saving. I ripped out all the shelves and hanging racks of all the closets in the home we bought and am going back with Ikea closet organizers. Their prices are reasonable and the quality is good. I am thinking it will be costly to try to move any of your furniture and Ikea might be a good place to shop!

There is an Ikea in Dublin.

@baymule That's wonderful, thank you! :hugs If, the Lord willing, I can buy this cottage, I'm going to have to think small, space saving furniture. Judging by the pics and description the kitchen is roomy, the bathroom small, then there is the entrance hall, lounge, two bedrooms in not much floor space.

@Denim Deb Yep, what's meant to be will happen. I just need to (try to) be open-minded and patient while things fall into place.

Doesn't look like there is any closets either. You will have to get creative with this one. What about beds with drawer units under them? Under the bed is dead space anyway..... Looks like lots of kitchen cabinet space, lounge-is that what we call the living room or den? That fireplace begs for a rocking chair next to it!

Hmm, yes, drawers under the bed sounds like a good idea. I have very little clothes that need hanging, so that's not essential. That kitchen is wonderful... The lounge, yes, same as a living room. And the fireplace, some fat cushions tossed on the floor in front of the fire in the evenings.

I have to buy this place!

i really like this place and if you decide later you can always add on to make it bigger but it is so cute. the house i built last year is only 800 sq ft and sometimes you have to be creative with storage but it can all be handled. here's hoping your place sells fast. you can always burn the peat in the fireplace too

This one is only 485 sq ft, so I'm going to have to be very creative if I buy it! Luckily I'm not much of a hoarder and get buy with very little stuff...

That peat bog definitely has potential. I'm not crazy about peat fires, they smell funny lol, but fuel is fuel and a free fuel is always welcome. When we lived there previously we collected wood that washed up on the beaches. The sea is not very salty there, unlike here, so the wood didn't smell bad when we burned it. We saved a fortune by collecting free wood instead of buying it, as we relied on the wood fire stove and a fire place to heat the house.

They've updated the listing with more pics and finally a map of the property. The land behind the house comes with. Sorry, it's not the best, but it should give you an idea:
