I have been waiting all day to see if anything would happen. Nothing. This morning, not ONE pooplet anywhere in the house. None of the traps or bait boxes were disturbed.

The cats are gone.

I am still going to shove towels under all the doors for a few more days, but I think the foam in the hole and the three days of poison may have done the trick.

I moved the couch to a different place and looked inside. It's been chewed, but no lifestock.

And that's the way it is, Saturday, August 15, 2009.

Yeah, thinking about looking into being a rat foster parent to fill the void.

I've got just the rat for you! He just recently lost his current foster home and is wondering around my yard......interested?

We may have eliminated the problem completely. Not one piece of scat anywhere this morning. No casualties visible either. Beginning to wonder if these were invisible mice. I have never seen one, and there has been abundant evidence of their presence. Apparently their digestive contents are not subject to the phenomenon of invisibility.

Between the poison and the cats and filling the holes, you just may be golden now. I keep the bait bars in a tightly sealed jar in my garage for the squirrels that move into my house on occasion. They are the only thing I poison, since I have to get rid of them FAST, as they could chew my house into a pile of slivers in a matter of just a few days. :/

I am going to keep the bait out for a couple more days, just to be sure.

Went out to "the back 40" (the side of my house) and did some raking and clearing this morning. Found things from the compost pile WAY on the other side of the yard. Hmmmmmm. I think we have a source. Now I am more motivated than ever to get that yard ready for planting in the spring.
