Out to pasture
Here is a pic of my grandson at 6 days old.
I have had a rough week. But am getting over it. I am way stressed out, because I have no income and cannot get a job. I ended up with an anxiety attack, then I got vertigo, because I ate stuff I shouldn't have Then the earthquake and Tsunami hit, then we found the cat of one of our good neighbors, dead in the street, Billy's (the goat) cyst ruptured, Blossom is still caughing and Flower has started to cough also, one of the chickens has something wrong with a foot and is limping, the dog has an infected ear, DD is feeding Similac to the baby (she cannot breastfeed, for medical reasons), stepson is back to only coming around when he wants something and not helping at all, I cannot find washing soda and now it is raining.
Ok rant over,
Today I made some crackers from scratch and they came out pretty good. We had them with some sardines for a snack. SO is passed out in front of the tv. It is dark and gloomy out and I will soon need to go out there and do evening chores.
Billy's cyst burst during daylight hours, so we were able to clean it thoroughly and bandage it. The other thing I had done was to cover it with surgical tape several days before. So the content of the cyst ended up stuck to the tape. It looked like white fatty tissue.
It is healing well.
I medicated Flower and Blossom for lungworm. They have had a persistent cough for some time. Blossom worse than Flower. Of course Blossom is the one we think is pregnant
When I checked their feeders today I noticed that there was a lot of dirt like looking material in the tray. Could possibly be insect poo. Might explain the coughing. Removed all of it and decided to not give them any more alfalfa from that bale of hay. I found rocks in it and clumps of dirt too. We got new hay yesterday, so I will be using that for the goats.
The limping chicken might have a really bad case of scaly mites, I treated her with Nu-stock (Bee mentioned it on another post). Her foot looks a lot better already.
I also treated our dog with Nu-stock. She has had some serious skin issues for nearly a year now. The vet just keeps saying it is fleas, so I quit taking her to the vet and have been working on figuring out what is going on on my own. You know the self sufficient way of doing things. Well this stuff seemed to really help. I only put one application on her and her skin is sooo much better.
I hope to finish the baby quilt tonight, that I started several weeks ago. I had to wash the fabric again, since our cat has been sleeping on it. He was doing product testing. I think he gave it a plus
