A fellow freecycler trims her rosemary every few months and gives me the branches. I dehydrate them in the sun, strip the rosemary and then use the branches in my rocket stove. Doesn't flavor the food much, but it smells SO good cooking !!!!

BB, for the bbq bundles, I just use the stipped stems of the herb that I dried. After I strip the leaves from the stems, I bundle them in bunches of about 1" diameter with the string that comes off the chicken feed bags. I read somewhere that you could do this with lavender sticks. You soak the bundle in water and then put it on your bbq to flavor the meat. I figure if it works with lavender, why not with other herbs. We haven't tried it yet though. SO hasn't been doing much bbq'ing lately.
In the end, if it doesn't work, I can always use these bundles to help start the fire in the fireplace.

I have saved herb stems for tossing in the fireplace! We just do that in winter for the scent.

SO uses rosemary for bbq'ing all the time. He makes a brush out of a few stems of them and uses it to put his sauce on the meat and vegetables.

You can use it to mop melted butter on corn on the cob too. :D

Today we harvested a whole lot more blue lake beans. So we decided that it is time for me to sit out front and try to sell our produce. SO is being very helpfull today.
Yesterday he came home from hunting at his fathers and started throwing all kinds of stuff on the kitchen counter, knocking down stuff I had on there. The one I had just cleaned so I could do round two of canning.
I had spent the morning picking peaches apples and tomatoes. I figured, since he was off hunting, it would be a good time for me to process some of this food. It also wasn't quite as hot as it had been

As soon as these peaches are done, I want to go to the bookstore, I have a 40% off coupon and want to see, if they have the Sally Fallon book that everyone is going on about. ;) or maybe I can find some other book that's a must have for anyone who wants to be self sufficient, like I do.
I want to be home by 4:30 the latest though, so I can set up my little produce stand.
Glad things seemed to have settled.
I used my coupon to get the book too! Enjoy  Hope the produce stand is a big success.

Whoo Hoo! I got the Sally Fallon book. It only took 45 minutes. They re-arranged the store, so I had to get help finding the book. Then when I went to pay for it with my check, they wouldn't accept it. I usually pay cash for stuff, but I was hanging onto my $1 bills for my produce stand sales (positive thinking going on here). So I wrote a check. It took 1/2 hours to get it straightened out. I guess companies are using a check service and if you don't use checks very often, they won't accept your check. :somad
So, I didn't get home til nearly 5 pm, too late to set up my produce stand. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow. I don't do it in the middle of the day, because we have no shade out front and it is just too hot. I also stay out of the sun in the middle of the day to avoid getting sunburned and the possibility of skin cancer.
Oh well, at least I got it squared away and shouldn't have any more problems using checks for a while. And I know what I'll be reading tonight.

Another one of our hens started laying again, so now we are back to having 4 layers.
I better go out and start feeding everyone their evening meal. And bring the plastic bags in, that I washed and hung to dry on the line earlier.

SO is off hunting that illusive deer at FIL's. I really hope he gets it today. We could use the meat and more so, I think it will really boost his spirits.
Kitty is helping type  I think he wants his breakfast. I am a slave to the animals. So I better be off and bring everyone their morning treat.
