DSS helped me move the chicken tractor aka chickpen now called kidpen.
At first we put the kids in there, while we did other chores. They love the little plastic dog house we have in there.
Once SO came home we let the kids out. We all enjoyed the day. It was sunny and warm. The dog, kids and my kitty all got to know each other. The chickens do not like the new "dogs"
The feather dusters would not come near me. I guess they think I am a traitor
The kids loved jumping on my and DSS's backs. They never strayed too far from us. They followed me around or stayed with DSS or SO, if they distracted them. Our dog Spike is looking after them too. When they bleat, she comes running to check on them. When I left them outside for a moment by themselves, she watched them. And when there was a strange noise coming from the street, Spike put herself between the noise and the kids. We were hoping she would be protective of them. They are getting used to her and follow her around, if they can't see one of us.

I am waiting for the sun to come out today, so I can take them outside again.

Keeping them in the X pen in the house has been perfect. The weather has been so nasty. This way it is easy for us to take care of them and to spend lots of time with them.
The sheets on the floor make it easy to see what their dropping are like. I am doing lots more laundry these days
We have a new elevated poo quotient

I have a busy schedule today and better get going. The kids require feeding with electrolytes about every 2 hours. Then I have to keep up with the laundry. Trying to get as much done as possible today, because we are supposedly getting more rain. :tongue

I want to get a bunch of vegies planted, do some tilling under the peaches, fill in the stupid census and get it mailed, finish my taxes and the list goes on.

We had a few rain showers this afternoon. when the clouds cleared away I took the little ones for one more outing. I walked around the field several times. After the second round they really got into the pip popping around. It was such fun to watch. Several times they started to run after the dog, then realized I wasn't right there and came running back to me.

I figure the excercise should also help with their digestive systems. I am about to give the another feeding of milk. Yeah! so far so good.
I am going to give them each 8 oz this time. I plan on feeding them one more time later on this evening.
Both their tummies look shallow, so I know they have room for some milk. Earlier one of the tummies looked a bit too full (and tight) and she was rather gassy. This was one more reason I did not want to feed too much at a time.
Ok I better run, they are bleating for me.

The way the story goes, is that someone left a gate open and the wrong buck got out and had his fun with quite a few of the ladies before he got caught and put back in his pen. Then the correct buck was introduced to the ladies. So this particular LaMancha mama... em, .... lets just say she had a bit too much fun that night (or rather afternoon) and slept around with more than one of the boys ;) ...
Each egg was fertilized by a different male, there you have it,
same mama, different daddies.
Ok. I get it now! So goats are like cats. :p
So momma is a hoochie?

Those pix are the cutest things ever! Oh my goodness! Cute Cute Cute!!!!!!
