Congrats on being a homeowner and being independent of a landlord that can control your movements etc.... At least all the money you pay out will go into equity and not just go in someone else's pocket... sure the bank... but as long as you pay them back, they will not refuse to renew the lease or tell you that you can't do this or that... improvements and changes will be to your liking and betterment...
