We made it through the storm just fine. The chickens are complaining about not being outside, though.

Blue skies and sun right now. Sunday/Monday is looking for 50/60s with heavy rain and flooding. I guess by Tuesday I'll be looking at the gardens again and sighing.

How did the original settlers in the area keep from going completely bonkers at this time of the year?

Mom dropped off my late grandmothers recipe collection!!!!! Most handwritten, some typed up on the old typewriter. I can feel the love in her notes. :love

How about some suggestions for getting it orginized and possibly setting things up so my kids, as well as the other grandkids could get copies of the recipes?

Created a new topic over in the recipe section:

Good to hear the weathers looking up for you.

Did your Grandma make notes on the recipes?? I would scan everything. So they get a copy of her hand written ones then make a new typed copy as well.

Maybe you could build the book that way. :idunno It might be really easy if you get hose clear document pages. Maybe they could fit on the same page. Then just put them all in a 3 ring binder.

I have an SS binder. I print everything people post. Right now its divided by meals, but I wish I could classify it by regions or people.

Not only did she make notes, but she wrote which of her "Busy Bee" circle pals did she get the recipe from. I was tearing up as I remembered some of those dear, sweet ladies who doted on me when I was a child and then tried to get their granddaughters to date me in high school. :D

I like the 3-ring binder idea, at least for my copies. hmmm...

Second straight day of rain. I think I just saw the chickens canoeing past the kitchen window....this weather is not helping our neighbors with their maple sap efforts right now.

Well, at least it isn't snow. We keep getting rain here too. And, even though it keeps making a muddy mess, I'm just glad it isn't snow!
