Makes me yearn for space to have chickens. I do love fresh eggs, but have no room! It makes me sad. XD
You could get a hutch like thing and put RIR bantams in it. They lay good and are 1/3 the size of regular chicken.

My daughters have suddenly became enamored with bantams, which are not on the agenda. That little practice egg today (from RIR Colette) had the DDs ooh-ing all morning.

I dislike banties but its an option for Neko Chan. We have a small egg from back in September layed out on the counter. I have told mom its gonna break and then STINKY.

I don't dislike them, they just weren't in the current plan. When the girls realized the chicks were "in" at TSC they started asking if they had bantams, could we get some. Luckily, I had the "those chicks aren't sexed so we could end up with roosters" card and that popped their bubbles. :D

I think they would be a great option for someone with limited options.

DW is super busy today. Had a flat tire and we found out she has the wrong tires by spec on her van, which explains some issues we've been having. If the tire can't be patched, it'll be 4 new ones. :he

Soooo, when she gets home tonight, she'll have dinner waiting for her:

Small salad. (I may make fried mozarella sticks?)

Beef roast (in the oven, covered with onions and pickled garlic, dressed with carrots, celery, and potatoes.)

Potato rolls (dough rising on the warm stove top right now)

From the Black Bean Chocolate Cake recipe thread, a cake cooling in the kitchen.

With all the blah-blah weather, I feel super productive right now!!!!

Would this meal be "larpin'" ?

As a young teenager, in addition to the farming/gardening stuff I was was learning, my mom made sure I really new how to cook - I can actually sew a little bit, too.

The wife is such a great cook, I don't cook as much as I used to. :/
