...and......the 8 year old vacuum broke yesterday. Yee hahStill working on the chaos. Got my three apple pies baked yesterday, kitchen counters scrubbed, and started attacking the kitchen mess. Still need to vacuum and dust. Threw out more outdated binge purchases from November that were in the refrigerator. Going forward, shopping ALWAYS must be done with a list with an inventory check part of the process. We now have 2 large bags of cranberries, 3 huge bags of walnuts, and I don't know how many boxes of snack crackers (all binge bought on sale).
Did hang a small task calendar white board in the kitchen, may help with sorting things out mentally. Pushed the wife to get up and do a little to help. I am going to have to be lovingly bossy, I guess.
My fear of buying this place is realized. Too much to keep up with by myself, while holding down a full-time job. This is part of the reason I gave up the volunteer gig. I have lowered my standards of "clean" a lot.
Cheaply made goods with high prices is what we get now. Appliances no longer run forever. I bought a used Harvest Gold upright freezer when I was 19. Hated that ugly color. It finally died some 35 years later.
The hose part of it broke off (separate thing from the floor head) Not sure if I am going to try to fix it. The head is not adjustable and struggles with the new carpet anyways. The 2018 washer that we bought from the house sellers here, broke. The struts are going out. So to fix it is $676 or to buy the exact same Maytag is $828.
What did I do? I'm going to fix the struts myself with hubs help. For $115.
Can the vacuum be repaired? What is wrong with it?
