Oh how I feel for you ! I watched my parents go through the very same thing for my grandmother. After countless appointments with lawyers, doctors and 'convalescent care professionals " my parents both approached me separately and requested they be euthanized before putting me through that.

So glad to hear you are feeling better! Sounds like the perfect weather for plucking :D I still have about 30 that are going into canning jars, when I find time. BTW, thanks so much! Your thoughts gave us a sound plan of action for dealing with our flock.

we (I) plan on doing something like that next year, except I am planning on just ordering an order (like 25 or so) of certified males especially for butchering, but instead of being cornish crosses just being the aussies or orps or something. just cause i'm gonna eat em doesn't mean they can't look purty! :)

Those meaties look happy, healthy and much less creepy than normal. Must be all that grass and weeds. Good job!!!
