kel: This is basically what I bought Fruit Cocktail Tree. I got mine from Michigan Bulb so long ago, but the ad is almost identical, except I think I paid $13.00 years ago. I would sure start it in a tub at least. Right now my tree has a tree-mendous spread so I don't think it could stay forever however. Stark Bros nursery also sells multi variety cherry, pear and apple trees as well.

As for the cockscombs not in the ground yet. I have been doing SO much revamping this year I just have not gotten it done. I do have a spot picked out, but I may end up waiting until next year at this point.

I left the cockscomb in the garden to drop seeds last autumn, but none have come up yet this year. I have more seed that I saved, and may try to put some in a large container.
