We were in your neck of the woods last weekend, from Thursday to Monday. DS and family live at Liberty. We usually go "south" to warmer temps....didn't work this time! It was great though, because we stayed around the house and played with granddaughters.
We ventured out Sunday morning to the casino for brunch and was glad to get back home. Wanted to go down to Independence to Costco and Sams but the roads were just too bad.
We have over 30 inches of snow, with lots of drifting. I came back so grateful for how our town and the state keep our roads clear. Roads get closed during a blizzard, but they all get plowed quickly. It has to be really bad before school gets called of here.
I'm supposed to be working this morning, but am putting off going out in the cold. Our wind chill is about -25. I am soooo tired of this winter
Egg prices are about the same here. We've barely been getting enough eggs for ourselves when all of a sudden the ladies started laying again. Some of them anyway. We got 8 eggs from 18 girls today. Sold 4 dozen at church. Enough left over to make a quiche and do some baking. Except for one old mutt hen, my red stars are my champion layers.
It's been cold here too, single digit lows. Mornings are brutal! I know it's much worse elsewhere though.
Isn't it nice to see the sunshine again??? Our weather was very nice today too. I actually got outside and took a stroll with my daughter, it was still very cold, but so pretty!
Time to go back to school tomorrow finally! We haven't had any school here either since Dec. 18,...the kids are so antsy! So far school is on for tomorrow, but on a two hour delay. I guess they are waiting for the temps to go up in the morning. The "long winter's nap" is over! I hope you have a good day getting back to work,..good luck with the kids!
We have 21 left also. Three day weekend coming up, four for the kids but we have a professional development day. Then three full weeks before another week off.
I'm tired too!
