So I picked up two more bags of feed at TSC, then headed to BJs where I bought the 4lb package of butter at $2.57/lb...not great, but still cheaper than W/M. Next I went to Whole Foods, where I get my vegetarian goodies...well, for grins, I checked out their butter - $2.48/lb!! Now, I ask you, what are the odds that WHOLE FOODS will have cheaper ANYTHING than W/M or BJs??!!??

I'll be stocking up on butter next week. It goes on sale in Shoprite for $1.99/lb. Cheapest I've seen it in awhile.

Walmart butter in Colorado Springs is $3.14/lb!!!

I hate the ethanol fad. I think they have pretty much proven that it really isn't cost efficient. The loss of power and lower mileage offset cost benefits. It also drives up the price of alfalfa. Farmers out here stopped planting alfalfa and switched to corn. Timothy was always about 2.00 a bale more than alfalfa. Then they swapped.

Walmart has had the better prices on gamma lids in my neck of the woods.

Unfortunately, no one here locally carries gamma seal lids. The best price that I have been able to find them on the net is from Country Life Natural Foods (which is where I order my bulk wheat and other foods from). Their current price is $5.95.

I order buckets and the lids at the same time that I make my bulk orders, as all orders over $500 are delivered free.

When I was living in Renovo, I saw butter on sale at $1.50/lb and stocked up... 15lbs of butter. Unfortunately, I moved and really didn't think about grabbing any of my stored foods. Now butter is $2.77/lb. Of course the fake crap is only $2/lb.
If I could ever afford the gamma seal lids, I'd start buying my ww flour and raw sugar in the 50lb bags, since the store is soooo far away. But I just can't heft out the money (pretty pathetic huh?)
If I could find them locally, for cheap, I'd be one happy gal.

Lol. The ex-boyfriend. I'd never have left my freezer in a move!!! Lol. Oh well, I don't have anywhere to store 15lbs of butter now. My freezer is smaller (not quite as tall as I am) and is old, so my parents would never let me plug it in because of the electricity usage. :/
