Well, I have been interested in plants for as long as I can remember, even as a child I wanted to know the names of plants, but especially edible ones. I'd find stuff on my hikes and rides on my pony and the whole family would set out to pick what I'd found. I was brought up with this way of thinking. So it is not a new thing or a special skill....it was more of an upbringing thing and a family interest. No super-powers. Just decades of experience and practice.

Bambi, a couple things come to mind.

My aunt lives in Seymour she shops the Amish veggie auctions for things she doesn't already grow. Pennies per pound and great deals.

Second, I scour sale adds. I bought peaches at 3 lbs for a buck this year. My local farm stand sells a 25 - 30 pond box of tomato seconds for 6.50. It takes a bit of effort to find these deals but worth it.

I waa buying wheat at 80 cents per pound. But then BubblingBrooks introduced me to Azure Standard. They have excellent organic grains at amazing prices.

Don't worry. We will help you find what you need. Before you know it you might even get a goat.

Or a pig might fall off a truck in your front yard. :gig

Sorry, I get goofy when I'm tired.

The sad part about the map is it looks like the last update was in February. I wonder how it would look NOW if all the new markers were added.

It would mean more if you saw it in comparison over the last hundred years. Is there more now than any other time in the last century? I dunno. Haven't studied. But I remember a LOT of chaos when I was in middle school. So much war going on that the end times were nigh and we were all gonna be nuked.

So just saying. Lots of unrest, but people DO that. Although, I do think finances are gonna keep spiraling down and chaos is gonna be the only reaction :D
