The flowers look exactly like chickweed, dawn419, but bigger than i've ever seen, and no heart shaped leaves are visible. SD lives much farther north than us, so i'll have to say that i'm not yet sold on chickweed for #12.
The pictures look close in that link, but there is one called "giant chickweed" that I do recognize as a different weed that grows here. This weed is eaten by the livestock, so that makes me think perhaps it is in the chickweed family.

Groundcover! :gig

Sorry, you've been helpful and I'm making a funny.

I actually love that plant, you can send it all to me. It was a favorite of my grandmother, I think she liked to say the name.

Heh, a northerner! A put your comments under the "consensus" part of the page.

I tried to answer your questions on the picture page to avoid confusion. On number 9, the flower color is kinda just green.

We got a lot of them figured out! Still a few missing, I know Denim Deb is a good plant identifier however so I'm hoping she can get some more of these or confirm them.

Was that fun? We need more people to post weed pictures now too, this could be an interesting thread if we keep it up a while.

I need a better shot of 5 but it looks more like prickly lettuce or chikory to me. No. 6 is definitely prickly lettuce that is bolting. I eat this stuff all the time and would know it anywhere. It is widely distributed across the entire northern hemisphere. Sorry i cant help with the others. There's probably a lot of native herbs that grow up there that i've never seen.

Yes, ma'am, it was! ;) I love IDing weeds/wildflowers and missed being on line when we moved out here so I could figure out some of the new plants I was noticing.

I'm pretty sure I've freaked my sister out, a few times, when they were helping us cut in our driveway and little clearing. We have a lot of storm damaged trees and one of them we cut down was loaded with Virginia Creeper vines. She went into a near panic about staying away from the poison ivy so I explained that the ivy has only 3 leaves, then went and found some so I could show her the difference. Went to her place and noticed a patch of yarrow growing and asked her if I could dig some up..."it's just a weed, Dawn!!!"...ah, but it's a very useful weed, sis, and explained what I use it for. She still wasn't impressed but oh, well, her loss!

If anyone wants Black Eyed Susan seeds, just PM me and I'll fix ya right on up as I have some to share from last year and will be collecting seeds again when they're ready. I'm trying to get them established in the right-of-way and around the yard since they do so well here (meaning I don't have to water them when we go for weeks without rain).

I'll be posting a pic or two later today, once I get them off doc's computer.

Sunsaver, 5 and 6 look similar in my photos but in real life, they don't. 6 I do think seems like your lettuce. I tasted it! It reminded me of some sort of lettuce from the store, more a strongly flavored one but I don't know which variety, a little peppery like nasturtium leaves taste. Thanks!

Number 5 is much coarser and thicker-leaved and grows in sun, whereas my wild lettuce is growing in semi shade.

If you break the stalk and get a white latex that tastes bitter, its in the lettuce family. If you break the stalk and find it's hollow and has strings like celery, it's a thistle. That should help you narrow it down.:)

If I can ever get on the computer I have a couple of weeds that are driving me nuts. I can't find them on any weed identification site and they are everywhere. I can also post pics of one that is common in my area and poisonous to livestock. I have been posting off my phone and I don't know how to add photos using it.
