You're right Deb, and thanks. I'm always amazed at how you just keep going and going. I always think of you as the energizer bunny.

And some days I look at all that you've done, as well as SD, and I feel like I haven't gotten anything done!

Looking for ideas: how would you use your time if you were cooped up in a house all day for one day a week.

I already do my laundry, reading, research, time management planning, and menu planning here. I have access to a kitchen with microwaves, fridge, and freezer but there is no stove. We might be getting one in a couple of months though. I have large blocks of time throughout the day but also have to be able to drop everything in case someone comes to the door, needs a tour, or to take phone calls.

Basically I'm really bored and now the novelty of tv has worn off. I'm so over it.

When I get stuck like that I like to ...

sew or mend (always something needs fixing)

make soap or even other items like bath bombs (oh yeah you are not home) :/

knit, crochet, spin

or my favorite ... I like to write! I am always making up stories, poems or working on the next possible article to sell.

Heck you could even - if you are really desperate for something to do - exercise! A day of situps, leg lifts and pushups each week would have you looking like a hard body! :woot

I'd thought about exercise... I don't want to be on this floor doing pushups :sick. I do have 6 days a week of 1/2 cardio and 4 days of pilates. Just started the pilates and its amazing!

I can always bring stuff to do from home. (DH would deny it to your face but he's the one who does the mending in our house. I've always not liked sewing for some reason. I guess I'm still too much the tomboy...)

I think I may have figured it out. I need to get some study guides and language resources for Farsi and get a jump start on teaching myself a foreign language. I just need a good mental challenge I think.

Knitting might be a good one to learn too.

I do that too! I do one shift that is 36 hours straight through... and usually can sleep about 12 of that. That's why I get so bored.

:woot Yesterday was a great day!

Somehow 14 of these 8 week old chicks ended up in our shed. :hu My favorite kind: barnyard mutts! Laying hens are going so fast around here I can't keep up or you have to drive over a hundred miles round trip. So I'll grow these out and see what happens. It was supposed to just be a dozen but a couple of times the guy said... that's definitely a roo but we'll toss them in anyway...

Then got home with them and there was a message from the good neighbor that she had baked us a pie and why weren't we home to go get it? So we went and got it, and sampled it before bed and had it with coffee for breakfast!

And my wisteria is blooming! And I've got people hopefully coming for peach tree seedlings and raspberry starts tomorrow!

Dogwood Winter today. Cold -only got to about 45 and a biting raw wind but the dogwood's blooming!

All no shows on the CL stuff... always next weekend to relist.

Went to the farmer's market for the first time of the season. Boy have prices gone up. The least expensive eggs were $3.75/dz and as high as $5.50/dz. Got some rhubarb.

Made chicken soup, fresh cookies for DH and two fresh rhubarb pies with some raspberries from last year thrown in. I don't like doing lattice crusts because I struggle with weaving the pieces together. I was trying to get it in the oven before I had to go to work tonight and had an inspiration... cut outs! I thought it turned out good and was much easier.
