Yippee on the chickens!

The pie looks great! What did you do with the cutouts? Grandma Nettie used to take pie dough and pierce it with a fork, then sprinkle it with either plain sugar or cinnamon sugar and bake until done (like a pre-made crust) about 10 minutes. I used to LOVE those snacks!! Brings back childhood memories.

i reroll the extra dough, spread butter, sugar, and cinnamon, roll and slice to make mini cinnamon rolls for DH. He loves them.

That pie looks YUMMY! I haven't had rhubarb pie in years. We used to live next to rhubarb fields and they had a stand where they sold it and practically gave the stuff away, as well as strawberries.

I like your style of lattice, very smart!

Have had a couple of good weeks urban foraging! Yesterday found 51 new flooring tiles with the sticker still on them and a partial box. We tracked it down as a home depot product and returned them last night. They were now on clearance so we only got $28 of store credit but well worth the gas to run them over there! Then I also found a propane tank in good condition.

I still have to relist the wet/dry vac and get it sold and have a shelf to see if they will take back at garden ridge on Monday.

Monday we're going to look at a farm for sale in the afternoon. 60 acre cattle farm. According to the owner it has good fences, creek, barn with 1 bedroom apartment, and very little timber. Price is seemingly right so we figured it would be a good lark for an afternoon.

Chicks are growing and starting to put on a little weight. 4 are definitely roosters. We've named them Moses, Reepicheep, Floyd, and Lloyd.

Garden is growing right along and the grapes just started putting out leaves and you can see the miniature grape clusters about the size of your thumbnail. So cute!

Starting to make my to-do list for my week off coming up. I think we're going to look into doing a winery tour. KY has many small wineries that went in when tobacco went out. I guess the limestone is good for the grapes. We've also talked about seeing if we can tour the farm that we're thinking about getting 1/4 beef from.

Then I have a couple of small painting projects in the house that I'd like to get finished up. One is where we had a light installed above the kitchen sink. The other is I found a rust-oleum specialty paint for laminate countertops. Everything in our house has been redone other than the cupboards and country blue countertops which drive me crazy. I think if this product works, I'd redo the counters in a brownish neutral. Anyone use or try this product?

Of course if the weather's nice (yeah right ) I'll want to be living outside and gardening!

Well, worst case scenario is that it doesn't work and then I can't get my lovely 1980's country blue back and we end up having to replace them... I think it's worth a shot though. It's probably like anything, prep it properly, read directions, and don't get in a hurry.
