Got the turkey stock cooked up but not canned yet. Didn't get a thing done in the garden, but the house is clean! After all of the spring mud and rain we've had I just couldn't stand it another minute so I shuffled all of my projects.

Got the smoked turkey bagged and in the freezer, and got the contents of the freezer inventoried so there are no more mysterious packages in there.

Got my 2 barred rocks tonight. They're so cute! They were right in the middle of the flock on the roost when I left for work.

Monday the plan is to go get some more lawn mowers, hopefully work in the garden, and start another batch of sauerkraut.

Dumb, dumb, dumb. I had a free coupon for a dessert at McD's. I got a caramel sundae and now my tummy hurts. I KNOW not to do that.

Well, I still don't have the garden fenced or planted...

Today I ran errands and rested. I made cabbage salad tonight with bacon, smoked cheese, apples, and mustard vinegar dressing. Yum! I can eat on this all weekend!

After this weekend, I only have 4 more weekends of work at hospitality house and then the first weekend in July will be Saturday and Sunday during the day directing movers and packing things up I guess. I'm counting it down!

10 months of this has really taken a toll. It was a blessing to be able to do it for our financial goals but now that I see the light at the end of the tunnel, I am excited to be moving on and able to do more of the things that we love doing and having the energy to do them again.

Pretty quiet this week. Keeping my head down and trudging along.

Found 3 propane tanks while urban foraging yesterday. Was also given a large dog house by our neighbors so all that goes on craigslist. I also have 3 roosters I need to get rid of and don't feel like making the effort to butcher them myself. They're only 16 weeks old so not a good return on my time investment right now.

I'm making plans for June when I have more TIME!!!! I want to do up some pizza crusts for the freezer and do up some taco meat to have pre done. Gardening for sure and a general clean up.

MyT Man went with a friend yesterday to look at a used tractor. Turned out to be junk but his friend was thankful for his expertise and saving him from a bad deal.

Have a load of scrap that needs to go to the scrap yard soon too.

Please, pretty please may I have the cabbage salad recipe? That sounds delicious!

Every time we find propane tanks, they always have something wrong with them... and then we have to find a way to get rid of them ourselves. :(

I'll put that recipe in it's own thread in the kitchen area for you.

We just do an exchange on the tanks. Put $ in the kiosk, pull new supposedly full tank out of locker, put old tank in locker. I guess I thought that was how everyone did it?

We have some places where you exchange your tanks, but you don't put money in anything, you give it to someone. And, we have some places where you can still get your tanks filled.

I'd actually rather have someone fill it because then you know you're getting what you pay for! At the kiosk, you could be getting a 7/8 tank if they're dishonest but paying for full...

Sold another item on CL today. He's coming to pick it up this evening when MyT Man gets home from work.

He also said he heard teenage crowing from the backyard... I've for sure got 3 roos and a couple that are suspect.

In other news, I'm bidding on a nutrimill :fl. It just went up for auction this morning so I've got to wait until next weekend. I've bid on several mills over the last few months but haven't been super serious because if I got one, didn't have time to play with it much. I'll have more time the beginning of next month...

I'm also itching to DO something. Fun. Social. Community. Outside my box...

So here are my ideas that I want to choose from. Taking a banjo class, taking some classes at the range and possibly exploring competitive shooting, or a weaving class. I used to cross stitch all the time just to give my hands something to do but I'm not really interested in that anymore after seeing some of the other fiber arts in the gallery.

So weaving really has me inspired after looking at this piece by Dobree Adams day in and day out for the last month. My mom also used to have a flock and spin her wool but I never saw her weave.

Competitive shooting would satisfy my very competitive nature and I haven't competed in anything for awhile. Plus it would be social and fun.

Banjo would be fun. I've always had this idea that I would take up fiddle but after hearing ICU's comments about everyone smiling when they hear banjo, and knowing how much I like the sound, it seems like it would be fun. I had piano lessons as a kid and never appreciated it and now I would like to get back to music. I can't sing and you can't lug a piano around to picnics with you.

So, those are my thoughts and musings of the day.
