Wow 87 is a little much for Nov. We're in low-mid 70s which is over our mid 60 norm. I'm good with it 😉 Already dreading the 30s in Jan/Feb. Hate cold.

Hope DH is keeping a walker close for support until his equilibrium is back! It may not be his want to but, it helps.

We actually topped out at 89....crazy stupid!

I'm bummed. I thought DH's appt was Monday the 11th. Nope, it's Monday the 18th. ARGH! I was all set to get that adjustment done so... He's doing ok and starting to try to do more things on his own. Yes - walker is at hand unless I'm deliberately walking him up and down the hallway without it. I think it makes sense to practice walking the way he will (hopefully) eventually walk. The walker gets in his way - but it is a necessity right now.

I got some more seeds tucked in to replace the ones that didn't sprout. Slackers! I still need to get a few more peas planted. My back protested yesterday and it was too stupid hot anyway. I can get that finished up today if the rain doesn't settle in. We've had a light shower already this morning.

I got 14 sacks of feed yesterday. I got about half unloaded last night. I'll finish up today. Also got the yard mowed for what I hope is the last time this season. With our warm weather and rain, I might not get my wish.

Spent a good bit of time outside yesterday following does around with a stick in my hand. Taped to the end of the stick is a cup. Goats are afraid of a stick with a cup on the end, lol. And, waiting for a goat to squat and pee is frustrating! However, I was successful with 3 girls and (WHOOP) had positive results. Literally walked 2.5 miles following goats around!

Seem to have a problem with one doe. I suspect cystic ovaries. Ugh... guess I need to put in a call to the vet if she cycles again. It's one of the new (high priced) Boer does. The other two Boers were tested and confirmed bred.

Took a walk through the little garden area and saw taters poking through! Yay! I still need to finish putting peas in the ground. Got side tracked, lol. That happens occasionally!

Son has a car-show today. He's got two cars and a motorcycle entered. I'm going to try and get up there in time for the awards ceremony.

Hurray for seeds sprouting! I like car shows - but NOT when we spend hours there. A couple of glances, some admiration and such, then its time to go.

This was last weekend in Paso Robles at a Air war museum and a car museum

I like the car shows too. This one is a small town affair, but they have a pretty big turnout. They hold it twice a year. The spring show is generally bigger than the fall show, but that's ok. Better chances to win that way, lol.

Son and DIL came away from the car show with three plaques. Yay!

DIL and I went fishing Sunday morning. It was a very weird fishing day. I caught a bunch of little bluegill. She caught a bunch of little bluegill too. Then she started fishing in what we refer to as the "Devils Den" because it is notorious for snagging your line and causing you to get hung up. It's also the best fishing place on the entire lake. She had an alligator gar take her bait once...alligator gar are pretty strong and they have sharp teeth - it snapped her line. Picture for reference - the one we saw wasn't nearly that big. Probably only about 2 feet long.

That wasn't all, lol.

There was also an alligator. A real live alligator! We've seen it before. It must've been in a playful mood. Every time she'd cast into the Devils Den the alligator would swim up to her bobber and bop it with his nose, lol. No idea why! Guess he was bored. This is a smallish alligator - about 3 ft long. But it makes you wonder where mama and daddy gator are.

It was nice to get away for a little while. This fishing hole is literally less than 10 minutes from home. I kept in close touch with DH and he was fine.

Worst part of Sunday - my Texans lost AGAIN. What the heck is up with that? We've had a lot of our top guys out with injuries but they need to find a way to win anyway. This is the big time guys - get your stuff together!

Got most of my replanting done but haven't seen anything make an appearance yet.

Finally got another Physical Therapy group on board. We will see them for the first time tomorrow morning. Hope they're as great as the other group.

Up and at 'em this morning. On my second cup of coffee. In between the first cup and this one I've done a mad dash cleaning effort. Not that bad really but I needed to deal with some mail that had stacked up along with sweeping the floor. I've had a sheet over the recliner since DH spends so much time there. I pulled it off this morning and I can't even tell you how much popcorn came out of that chair along with the sheet. Sheesh...that man! I only need to clean off the coffee table and I'll call this place presentable. The new physical therapy provider is coming this morning, so they'll get the "first visit" house cleaning. Next time, they get what they get, lol.

I'm ordering some more quail eggs to hatch. Had a dismal hatch out of the first batch. I guess the incubator being turned off all night in the middle of their incubation period didn't do them any good at all. Sooooo, I'm gonna give it another shot.

I've got one more raised bed that I need to deal with. It was one of those cheapy metal ones that are flimsy as heck until you get dirt in 'em. I haven't got dirt in this one yet. It's just sitting out there waiting... and waiting... I need to pick it up and weed whack where it's been sitting. After that I can put cardboard down under it and start filling it up. I'll give it a layer of sticks and twigs at first and then try to find some soil to go in it. I may have to buy some but I'll mix it with some barn gold and it should be good to go. If I don't get anything in it now at least it'll be ready for spring.

I've got a couple of sprawling volunteer tomato plants that are covered with baby 'maters and blooms. I need to figure out a way to build them a mini green house so they can, hopefully, keep going for a while longer.

Second cup finished and I need to go get DH outta bed. PT will be here at 9:30 and I'm sure they would appreciate him being up and dressed. They're picky that way, lol.

Are you turning you whole garden containers? I remember you had a big garden in pics a few yrs back. All gardening is work but, containers do better with weed control usually. 🤷 I'll do a couple this spring & compare to work with old style.

I hope not, lol. The area I previously planted in ground has been reverted back to goat pens. I don't grow as much in the fall, so right now this is what's working for me. For a spring/summer garden I'll have to find more room, or go vertical, especially with vining plants. Cucumbers, peas and even cantaloupe are fine with vertical, but larger things like pumpkins and some of the big winter squash might be a real challenge. I'll have to give that some thought. Maybe with succession planting I can make the raised beds work for a while. I also want to put up a screen house of some type for tomatoes. Change is constant around here!

Forty-seven degrees - yee haw! I know for a lot of ya'll that is balmy weather, but I've been waiting for this for months. We're still going to have fluctuations in the temps for the next week or so. We could be anywhere from mid 60's to low 80's but there is a day or two with highs in the 50's. After a long hot summer anything under 95 is welcome, lol.

It should be a perfect day to be outside, so what's actually happening at my house? Occupational Therapy is coming to do an assessment at 8:30 and Physical Therapy is coming at 12:30. Wonder if OT can assess him while he's still in bed? Next week we have 3 doc appts away from the house. Forty minutes east of here on Monday, 20 minutes west of here on Tuesday and 40 minutes east agaon on Thursday. One could only dream that we could have the two appts east of here on the same day - but nope! That would be too much like right, right?

Nothing exciting in the goat world. Moved a couple of does yesterday into the "old lady" assisted living pen. Old lady Nubians just can't keep any weight on so they're getting personal service these days. They're getting extra feed and Chaffhaye as a topper. They aren't even appreciative - they just keep _itching about being away from their friends. Geeze, there are 3 of them together - you'd think that would be enough.

I'm ready for kidding season, lol. I want to see what I get out of the new buck! Not even sure all the does are bred yet, but there should be no shortage of babies even if a few girls get a break this year.

Guess I should get DH outta bed...
