HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!

Whew, it's been a crazy couple of weeks. I'm going on my second weekend of having no time to do anything round this place that needs to be done. No goat time, no garden time... geeze I need a vacation!

Cowboy has been a good boy lately! He is so funny, sometimes I just have to define the boundaries for him. But, I'm thinking about having him neutered. I'm afraid that if a female dog comes in heat somewhere that he'll just disappear - because he can.

Gonna head out to my mom's today, and then stop by DH's mom later this afternoon. Then, work Monday, doc appts Tuesday. DH's cardiologist is insisting that he have a stress test and an echocardiogram before he'll release him for surgery. They saved us an appointment for Tuesday morning - the day before eye surgery. Now - I've been telling DH for several weeks now to call EVERYONE and see if he needed to do anything for all this pre-op stuff....and has he? Nope, so we get this panic call from the cardiologist office to get his butt in there...geeze. They've promised to read all the tests and give him clearance that day, if all goes well. BUT - I'm still annoyed at DH for not being proactive and taking care of all this...geeze louise! Looks like I'm going to miss a whole bunch of work next week.

I need to get out there this morning and check on the itty, bitty doe. Felt her ligs last night and they're really soft and low, so she'll probably decide to do this birthing thing when my life is at it's most hectic. Hope she knows what she's doing!

Back at you, FEM, and all the moms here! I keep forgetting what day it is. MD is clearly not happening in this house lol

You do need a vacation! I hope next week will go smoothly for you and DH :hugs

Still waiting for the doe? Hopefully she'll get done with it soon and hassle free so you can relax a bit.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Hope all goes well with your doe, and your husband's appointments.

Neutering Cowboy is probably not a terrible idea... That could end poorly...

Mother Nature rocks!

Mama to be is a tiny little doe - barely turned a year old in April, maybe 40 lbs. Breeding was absolutely NOT planned, but stuff happens. I didn't even know she was bred until a couple months ago when she started making a little udder.

I've been intending to visit my folks today so I was worried the impending birth was going to interfere. Went out about an hour ago to try to do an internal exam to see if there was any dilation. Epic fail - couldn't even get an index finger in there... of course that made me even more worried. Told my mom I might not make it. Went back out to check a few minutes ago.....
TAH DAH - baby delivered! Still damp, but up and around with a tight, full belly and best of all - IT'S A GIRL! Wow... color me relieved.
