Oh, yes -- you are on the 3 day wknd schedule now... :weee Sure makes Fridays better!!!

Another day on the farm always helps.

Yesterday I worked to make a garden happen. Yeah, better late than never! BUT, the volunteer plants are large, so makes me "think" I did it earlier. Some of the chicken netting up, some plants in, lots more to go. Tiller in shop :barnie Shovel still working. Of course, some chickens had to HELP till, after plants & before chicken wire up. Not bad but annoying. I believe they were waiting to sneak in! So, I can say that I was not enthused with the extra work. Kinda said, really? You need a garden???? This AM I do feel better about it all.:clap Plan to start more seeds -- you know the ones for sale only had the two sprout leaves for $3. & I can have THAT in a few days, already pd for -- Besides, long grow season here. MAYBE, I'll set some beans out today, start peppers & eggplant. Bags & sprouting taters ready to set, also. :idunno

YOU are actually getting veggies from yours, so way ahead of me! Hope to have this set up to use again next year. Taking some time because of that repurposing of the old "round pen" area. Fixed some wood on fence, etc.

Check those chicks that just hatched. :D Enjoy your weekend. Hope DH does better today. I have low blood sugar issues and it really isn't fun when it hits you.

I love that!! Dang shovels hardly ever break down!

Yay for 3 day weekends... I need them this time of year. I am enjoying the fact that my garden is producing. I put it in a fail-proof area that I've used before and the soil is wonderful - but it's small. I need more room! I don't have okra in there or any type of pumpkin/winter squash. I need to find places to put more 'stuff'!

Speaking of gardens - I need to grate some zucchini and get it in the freezer. I want to try making hash browns from them. That sounds soooo good. DH never gets to eat hash browns because of the carbs in potatoes...this would be a great substitute.

I ordered comfrey roots that I need to find a place for too. They are sprouting in the bag they were delivered in. I've put some of them in pots already, but for whatever reason I ordered 30 roots! What was I thinking? I don't have 30 pots, lol. I'm thinking about closing off a corner in the buck pen and planting some in the ground out there. That would put them up against the neighbors jungle and if they run rampant - no one would be able to tell, lol!

Also need to get the dehydrator out and dusted off for figs. So glad we haven't had all the rain 'they' predicted for us this week. Too much rain too fast would really screw up the fig crop.

Keeping my fingers crossed that we stay dry. I'd like to sell a few more goats and I hate to have folks come out when it's that muddy and sloppy. Of course, I need to decide what's staying and what's going. I hate that, but it's gotta be done.

Second cup of coffee downed and I need to get out there...

Happy Friday ya'll!

I am so OVER mud! Plus, every time it stays wet like this the parasite bloom for the goats is inevitable. GRRRR!

But while waiting for it to stop raining - I got a batch of Kimchi going! Now to get that zucchini grated and find something to put in my belly!

Lookin' more like an inside day rather than an outside day. I now have 8 sandwich sized bags of grated zucchini in the freezer. Only lost the skin on one knuckle because I was too lazy to get out the food processor and grated those two big ol' whoppers by hand.
