I'm sorry to hear about your dad :hugs Tortoise's info sounds promising though! :fl

Back up to Gracie, when I grew up my parents breed Bullterriers on a small scale. They didn't always have or wanted to have a male around, so when a bitch went into heat, they took her for a date with a chosen male with another owner/breeder. I think the payment for the service was a puppy for the male's owner. That may be an option for you?

Bull terriers are awesome, BTW. So funny looking lol!

Glad your mom's doing well, hopefully your dad can get moving easier.

Might be an option. My concern is that the only breeder I know within a several hour radius is the breeder I got Gracie from. I would prefer a sire from another bloodline than hers. Would need to start making some calls and inquiries if I ever wanted to get serious about breeding her.

Had a FARM FIRST last night, lol. Was feeding the pigs and noticed that I was a pig short. Hmmmmm.... Heard a faint squeal from the gate area between my and my neighbors pastures. That area is horrible - wet and muddy and deep....and one of the pigs was stuck in the mud! Poor Guinea hogs have short legs and to get through that quagmire they almost have to swim....except swimming in mud wasn't as easy as it looked. That pig was STUCK!

So, I go to get the tractor and it's got a flat tire - which really annoys the heck outta me. I drove it anyway and just prayed that I didn't tear the tire up or roll it off the rim. Thankfully, I only had a short distance to go. I got my boots on, got a rope, got a pallet for me to stand on while I was trying to rope the pig...sigh. Finally got the rope around the stooped pigs neck and it starts trying to go the other way which resulted in said pig getting even STUCK-ER than it was - and the rope slipped off. Pigs necks are bigger than their heads so it's hard to make that stupid rope stay on there!

Finally, with much screaming and teeth gnashing and bellowing (from me) and some screaming and bellowing from the pig I got it roped again. Started pulling and was making progress - didn't need the tractor after all. Was heave ho-ing as much as I could in rubber boots and pretty much stuck in the mud myself.... and the *&^$^&& rope slips offa the pigs neck again! Ya know what happens when you're pulling with allll your might, the rope slips and you can't move your feet? Hmmmm? Not even gonna give details, but mud is soft! Pig got out and then I had to extricate myself....geeze. The things we do for these animals.

:yuckyuck LOL! Laughing my butt off at your expense! Your version of mud is just crazy! I don't know how you manage! I can imagine your frustration in the situation, but sounds like one you'll look back and laugh about.

Hmmmmm....bet that mud was part, well, you name it! I've had a tumble or two and considered just tossing the clothes. But a hose sure helped...before I could put them in the washer.

Sure the pig didn't help YOU but, odd that the dogs didn't.

Speaking of dogs, Gracie is such a rich, vibrant color -- love it. She looks to be quite an affectionate girl. Thanks for the pic!

Yep I'm sure there were a few aromatics mixed into that mud, lol! I used the water hose on me, my boots, the rope...all of that - except the pig. And, it wouldn't have any good to wash the pig because this dingbat did it again today - argh!

Trying to load some pics but things aren't cooperating - I'll try again later.
