:yuckyuck

To be fair, I begged for a new corn broom for the barn for Christmas two years ago. Still my favorite xmas gift. :love DH thinks I am CRAZY! :gig And this past xmas, I requested a sheep halter/lead. DH said no, but DS10 got it for me :love

Two years I got IKEA shopping trips ($$$!) for Mother's Day. :love No plans for a Mother's Day splurge this year. I spent enough money on growing supplies, I gifted myself, I guess!

I like my crazy gifts too. I gifted myself for most things last year...Instant Pot, Toaster Oven and Conan for Anniversary, Christmas and B'day, lol. I kinda like it that way!

I'm about to gift myself for Mothers Day with a new phone. I have an iPhone 4s - and it's literally ancient by iPhone standards. Wouldn't bother but it's so old I can't put new apps on it - and I neeeeeeed my apps!
Still debating on getting a new bed cover for the truck.... or doing without. There's good and bad with both options.

Agree with most of that....but I HATE our TSC...it sucks! So, make it a Jeffers gift card, or an Amazon gift card, or even an Ebay gift card!

One year my DH (who was feeling quite guilty about something) went to one of the major jewelry shops and bought me the most exquisite diamond necklace and earrings....and when I say spendy...wooh! I mean lots and lots of zero's. The earrings were three strands of diamonds and they nearly hit my shoulders. The necklace...omg! I made him take 'em back! He's like....are you sure? I'm like - hell to the yes! Take. Them. Back! Then I had my barn built and still had money left over!

Wow!! He went all out! And a barn is totally a better purchase. Although maybe he had already calculated future costs of all these goats and figured jewelry would cost less! Lol

Quite possible, lol.

My first DH collected guns - tons of guns. Every time I wanted a goat he witched about the price. I finally had to set the simpleton down and explain to him that goats reproduce. Babies can be sold (or so I'm told, lol) to recoup some of the costs. At that time I was showing and selling goats for really good prices. And pygmy goats didn't eat much...not like these bottomless pits I have now!

When I get a goat, my husband gets a gun... Lol. It works out great for me because I like goats and guns :)

Baby goats can be sold, you know! Doesn't mean they are... But they can be. Just saying...

That's just a rumor, lol! I've for sure got to sell these little boys. One of 'em hasn't even been disbudded - and at this point - isn't gonna be.... He's the youngest one so when he's ready I'll run an ad and try to move 'em all out at the same time.

We went and saw the oldsters today. They're hanging in there. Went to our favorite Chinese buffet for lunch. Lest ya'll think I went for the Chinese food - you would be wrong, lol. They have boiled shrimp and crawfish, raw oysters, crab and sushi. So I call it my seafood buffet place. :drool

Then we ran to Home Depot and I picked up one of those semi-new fangled, fancy-dancy "stirrup" hoes. I think I like it. Only got to play with it a few minutes. I'll give it a better trial tomorrow.

After that Wally World to pick up a few things for DH. He's going to work in Dallas allllllll next week. He'll leave tomorrow and come back next Friday or Saturday. It will drive me crazy not being in charge of his health, lol. But, he's a big boy and needs to take care of himself.

I was all excited and thinking I'd pick zucchini and yellow squash this weekend - but....
all the beautiful squashes that started seem to have blossom-end rot. Google says it's a calcium deficiency just like when it happens to tomatoes. Sooooo, I diluted some milk with water and gave the plants a foliar feeding along with pouring some around the roots. :fl Hope it works. I'm thinking lather, rinse and repeat tomorrow.

The Rattlesnake beans are starting to send out runners so I put up a little bit of a trellis for them today. My bush beans have tiny little bitty beans on them. Yay! They're only about an inch long and oh so cute!!

Goats are goating, pigs are pigging, and things are rolling along.

It's been one of those nice slow Sundays. DH took his mom grocery shopping this morning. He was a little anxious because he was getting ready to leave for Dallas when she called. She said she had NO food in the house and she needed a ride to the store. He asks if she'd just make a list and he'd go pick everything up cuz she's kinda slow... Nope - she needed to go. He says she walks through the store and picks up every can of something and looks at every frozen vegetable and every package of lunch meat pondering...just pondering, lol! Poor DH - but he got her taken care of and got back home, loaded his car and scooted on down the road. He left at 1:30 and is sauntering north, lol.

I've been knocking off a few little things that were on the list. Noticed one of the bucklings had loose stool on Friday so my plan was to give them all a Toltrazuril dose to ward off Coccidia. By the time I got to it today his stool was all firmed up. Oh well, Toltrazuril will do 'em good anyway.

I've spent a lot of the day watering the garden(s). I got the plum tree planted and still have an orange tree to plant.

Got some chickens separated too. Have three Lavender Orp hens and two roosters penned together. Guess I need to keep an eye on 'em for a few days to make sure the rooster don't knock each other away from the hens.

Laundry is getting marked off the list. I made some butter in a mason jar...got more than I thought I'd get out of a cup of cream. Oh - and I made Kimchi! YUM! Trying to get more fermented type foods on board. I need some new Kefir grains. The last batch gave up due to operator error...:(

Wonder of wonders - the goats and pigs both started eating the food pantry rejects onions. :ep Guess they just wanted them to be a little riper lol! Pre marinated pork? Glad the milking does can't get to the onions - yuck!

Got a little trellis put up for the Rattlesnake beans. I love, love, love those beans! But, some of the last bunch of bush beans I planted didn't even come up....seeds are old. I've got some more that are a little fresher so I might stick some more in the ground in a couple days if nothing appears after the heavy watering I did today.

I still need to go out and do the evening feeding and milking...after that I think I'm just gonna chill. Might go to bed early! This next week is my last 5 day working week until mid-August! YAY!!! I neeeeed those 4 day work weeks and my three day weekends!

I'd best go get finished.
