All this muck has me needing to move some critters around. Need to bring Chester and the pygmy doe in from the pasture...been saying that for a week now and haven't done it. Pro cras ti na tion, pro cras ti naaa aa tion is making me wait (sung to the tune of Carly Simon's "Anticipation"). I amuse myself, lol.

Found three of the remaining 5 quail dead in the cage this afternoon. (have 8 or 9 in the brooder) Gate was shut - plenty of water - plenty of food...not sure what could have gotten in to kill and leave them laying there. They are in 1 x 2 inch wire on the sides of the cage and 1/2 inch on the bottom. I'm wondering if it was the mosquitos. No idea if that is a possibility, but the skeeters are relentless. I went to TSC today and bought some permethrin spray. Gotta say that it worked pretty well in the barn. I sprayed the small barn and milk room and about 15 minutes later the skeeters were scarce. Glad about that!

I'm struggling tonight. I want W.I.N.E and carbs and more wine and chocolate and more wine and...maybe some cheese with my whine. Need to take a shower and go to bed. That will keep me outta the kitchen. I had a handful of granola when I got home and I think that triggered the craving. Before that, all I had to eat today is two scrambled eggs for breakfast, a tiny piece of fish and 1/2 cup of butternut squash for lunch and a quarter cup of grapes for an afternoon snack.

Guess I'll go work on the eggplant pizza slices. Need to go to the garden and pick some fresh basil. Then I'll simmer some tomato sauce with basil and garlic and call it pizza topping. All I have is little parmesan to go on top - but by golly I'm gonna make it work!

Both of us have gained 10 pounds this summer. We eat too much sugar, carbs and general crap. I am going to stop. DH buys sweets and junk, I think I'll ban him from going to the grocery store with me. LOL These 10 pounds got to go!

I gotta say that low carb works - I'm down 8 lbs. Yay!

Yep - keep him OUTTA the grocery store! I had to stop the sugar cold-turkey. I do eat a few grapes from time to time - ok - every day, lol. Sugar isn't what I crave right now...it's bread. I love bread. Argh - I should have made pizza on the bread recipe that FJ gave me. Grrrr! Tomorrow!

He is a bread-a-holic too. I have to admit that I love bread too. I just gotta stop.

I so have a bread issue. And I love baking! I've gained weight this summer too, need to get motivated. Baby is finally old enough that she can entertain herself while I cook. It's time!

Yay on the weight loss!

I'm also trying to stave off the inevitable 5 lbs that I gain almost every winter. That 5 lbs is usually easily lost every spring, but if I can keep it away and then lose a few in the spring I'll be ahead of the game!

We are boggy, boggy, boggy with more bog to come. yay .
