Sitting in the surgery center for DHs eye surgery. I’ve been up since 4am- argh! The plan was to leave at 5:30 to arrive well before our 7am check-in time The traffic gods decided otherwise. Huge wreck on the hwy coming into H-town. The supposed hour drive took 90 minutes. But we were only about 5 minutes late- and we weren’t the only ones.

Now I’m hungry, sleepy and grouchy. Some rude woman in the waiting room had the volume on her phone turned on and was listening to news and music and then playing a game with the music blaring...all the same time as the tv on the wall is blaring too. Several others were as annoyed as well. So I took out my phone and turned up the volume. So did the guy next to me, lol. She got the hint!

Supposed to be really nice today so I hope we can get home earlyish. Hopefully before noon. :fl

Home, finally. DH is sleepy but good. His eye hurts. He was supposed to have his eye drops before surgery and he doesn't have them yet. They are supposed to be overnighted from some pharmacy somewhere... I dunno the whole deal. All I know is that he needs 'em!

Had a scare last night with the bottle babies. I had put them out in a small pasture area and when I went to bring them in last night I couldn't find one of 'em. Finally found her cowering under the pipe rack in that pen and she really seemed traumatized. She was shaking and wouldn't even take a bottle. Scared me to death... but this morning she seems a-ok! Whew!

Still giving Dallas some penicillin. I didn't check on her before we left this morning so I'll be doing that next. If her breathing doesn't seem to be improved I'll be heading to the vet to get a different antibiotic. Weird thing is that as of yesterday evening she doesn't act sick at all. She was running and playing and nursing. I guess I need to practice what I preach and take her temp before I make any decisions.

I'll move Cameo and Lucy into their daytime pen when I go out. That'll keep their greedy babies away from them so I can sneak some milk this evening.

Gotta get busy so I can come back in and catch a little nap. If the (slight exaggeration) 12 cups of coffee I've had doesn't keep me awake, that is!

:hugs for you and DH. I hope the pain will stop for him soon and he'll get those drops quickly! And that you will get a good nap in sometime today.

Beautiful day today! I got to spend some time outside with the goats. Moved the next two does that are due to the maternity ward and kicked out the two does that have single bucklings. They got their first dose of Toltrazuril and now they have the run of the pasture. They are pure holy terrors, lol! I'm gonna have to watch 'em and get 'em neutered before they're locked and loaded, lol.

I am amazed at the growth of the first babies. In this pic the pygmy doe is on the right. Cameo's b/d twins to her left...born Jan 24th I think and the two on the far left are Lucy's girls born on 1-1. This pic was from about 10 days ago. They are all bigger than the pygmy doe now.
