WooHoo! Big pig is meeting his maker Saturday morning. I've gotta get that sucker outta my garden. Texted the neighbor this morning and asked if he was interested in pork or money and that I gotta get this pig outta here! So, we have a date for Saturday morning! Guess I better start working on cleaning out the freezer. Won't be too bad cuz I'll be sharing the pork so it's not like it'll be hundreds of lbs of meat. But, I get my garden back! Yay! (I'm not excited at all!)

@baymule He's doing really well. He even went back to work today. He still has a little bit of a sedative hangover but he's pretty much back to his normal, wacko self, lol.

More good news - not just getting rid of a pig this weekend - getting another goat gone. Yay! And, it's a buck - so it's good that it's going. AND, it opens up a pen. Not one of the regular guys - just a leftover from last years kidding that I never got banded or sold. And he's a wild and crazy guy so it will be nice to have him outta here! Was gonna butcher him this weekend if he didn't go. Right now I'd rather have a little cash than 10 lbs of goat meat, lol.

Going to go feed the babies and go to bed.

I'm glad that he is doing better and already gone back to work. Is he looking forward to retirement?

Butchering a pig AND selling a buck? Sounds like a stellar weekend to me!

He is so excited about retirement. He’s talking to the train museum in Galveston about volunteering there.

Yep, some of those extra mouths around here gotta go.

Great to hear your DH is doing so well and the buck is getting sold! Good way to start the weekend :) How are you doing otherwise? Getting enough rest in-between I hope.

Whew - I'm waiting for things to slow down a little - but they never do, lol. Getting the pig out of the garden area frees it up to plant a couple things if I can get it leveled out some. Mr. Pig was not so good at leveling things. Our hard clay soil dries like concrete so there are lows where his foot prints were and high hard concrete/mud where it squished up and dried. He's got one big pit in there that I guess he was planning on using as a pool that I need to get leveled. I'm not worried about getting in a big garden at this point - but I'd like to get some okra and some Red Rippers out there and maybe some squashes.

Getting rid of the buck will be nice, but it depends on me being able to catch his crazy self. He's in a pen - but he's wild and wooly and F.A.S.T. The pen is about 10 x 30 so I'm thinking I may need to block it off some so he doesn't have as much room to run around and evade capture. But, he's wiley - so who knows? I get off at 3 today and the buyer is coming at 6 so I have a little while to try. All I know is that all the work I'm probably going to do isn't worth the little bit of money I'm asking for this guy, lol.
