Are you selling all your pygmies? Do you ship to NH? LOL! I love them. They're too cute.

Hey after all that butchering yesterday, a normal maintenance day might be nice!

I keep saying I'm selling 'em...and the next minute I say I'm not, lol. Neighbor tells me he knows someone hunting for quality pygmies - not the obvious crosses that Craigslist is full of. But, they were my gateway goat, my first goat love. I may sit here and talk myself right out of it!

You deserve a "just because"!! DO IT. Keep them. :love

Tiny, eat little, take little room. ONE big pig gone makes up for it. :idunno:old Besides, freezer pork is good! Always several more coming, right?

Ok... unsolicitated advice coming, lol. Keep a couple pygmies. You love them, they're small, and when you make decisions based solely off what's productive you lose sight of why you did it in the first place. Cause it's fun, and you love the little things. You've been raising pygmies for like 30 years right, your farm isn't the same without a couple pygmies!

I'm done now. I didn't help you sell any goats did I? :)

Ya'll are enablers! I do love my pygmies!

That is profound, and so true! Thanks for that. :)

It's been a nice, semi-quiet day. I did the basics of chores and actually sat and watched a movie. Crazy times, lol!

The neighbor kids came over to feed the babies and the silly babies cared nothing about their bottles, lol. They just wanted to play. They've started nibbling feed and green things so maybe they aren't so totally dependent on their full bottles. They took about half of it...

DH has been amazing lately. He's really stepping up. I think he's practicing being retired. He's done breakfast and dinner several times the last few days. Simple but delish! I think he wants to still feel like he's contributing when he retires. Hey - works for me!

Back to work tomorrow - ugh.

I can't remember if I told you all there is a hotel in Kilkenny city with a small petting zoo. And they have pygmies... and they had a tiny kid when we visited. Oh my heart :love Since they get so many visitors and attention they were not shy with strangers at all and lined up along the fence for scratches and loving. I can understand why it'd be very hard to sell them!

That's wonderful of your DH! :) Take advantage of it! lol The poor man have been through so much and retirement is going to be another huge thing, if a good thing, still a big thing. I think he's going to love being home and helping you though.

Congrats on the pork for the freezer and selling the buck. I can just picture that guy bringing his kids for you to castrate and disbud. LOL LOL Or rather, I can picture the cussing he would get!

Spring is here, it is warming up, soon (like tomorrow) it will be hot and we'll be moaning for winter again. Get your garden smoothed out and get something growing!

I can't tell you how often I've had someone call me and try to give back old spent hens. Most often, birds that they got from me as chicks. Now that they are no longer laying, they want to give them back!!!

I'd take them, butcher them and can or put in the freezer. Free meat! Then I'd sell 'em some more chicks to keep the cycle going. LOL LOL
