Including the horses, dogs, cats, etc. I am spending about.... $700 a month.... SHHH DON'T TELL MY HUSBAND. That's hay included unless I go take a trip to get more alfalfa.

What are y'all feeding those goats?! Gold?!

We fed 5 round bales to our goats last year, cost like $150? For the whole year. Edited to add: I bought a bag of loose mineral for the goats last year. So add a bag of that. Probably won't do it again - DH thought I had a screw loose!

About $150/year on sheep grain, fed end of gestation and beginning of lactation. We spend more on hay for them than the goats, they're fussy and will starve themselves if they don't like the hay. And there are more of them!

Chickens vary a lot, maybe $40/month in winter but not much in summer.

Haven't been to the feed store since the grass turned green. Just saying... ;)

Cut your feed costs AND YOU CAN HAVE MORE GOATS!

I hate it when I actually think about how much I spend. That doesn't include wormers/meds/buckets/collars/fence feeders/fencing supplies.... and the occasional $400 vet bill for a goat with a broken leg! I can never sell that goat, lol!

No kidding! I have WAY more invested in the goats than any other animal here. And I need to spend more money in the foreseeable future... And I will only have 5 goats, once I get my buckling next week!

Got the notice today that we've used 3/4's of our data plan and we're just 2/3rds through with the month - argh! We'll be rationing for a few days... I refuse to pay $10 a day to get an extra gig a day. This is what happens when DH isn't employed - UGH!

Didn't do much today except feed, milk, pick a few green beans and pulled a few weeds. We drug out a puzzle that I got DH for Christmas and have been obsessing over that all day, lol!

Made some home grown pork chops for dinner, green beans from the garden and some zucchini fritters. The entire dinner was pretty much raised/grown right here, including the egg yolk I put in the fritters. The only thing that wasn't was some onion and flour for the fritters and the oil I used to fry the 'em. Really tasty!

Hoping to be a bit more productive tomorrow!
