That's my feeling too SD....just try explaining that to someone who knows little about our finances and doesn't want to pay attention. He has access to everything and I offer to sit down and show him, but alas, he then makes up an excuse. Says that when I married him I said "For better or for worse...and I'll do all the finances"

We did it that way for awhile too, for about 15-16 years! We've been married 29. The last 10 or so however Hubby started. I found that when HE is trying to balance our budget, he watches his spending. When I was paying the bills he never understood how much we have left.

I do find it annoying to have to ask him how much I can spend but it works better for our marriage to have him "in charge" of the money.

He decided to take over when he thought he could "do better"..... I don't know if we necessarily do any better, but at least we no longer fight about it.

I took over the bill paying when I discovered that DH paid the bills by setting them in a pile and paying from the top down without regard to what was due when. He paid the minimum on everything instead of putting any thought into it when we could have paid larger amounts sometimes. Now he just does the taxes...

Big G wants me to just pay the minimum so we can bank some into savings....I say why pay $16/mo on a $1500 credit card which will end up costing us $4000 when I could pay $100/mo, only end up paying the $1500 and be done in a year. Silly man. Little does he know I keep moving money over to a savings that's not connected to the checking so if/when we overdraw that account won't be touched. Especially since it's only in my name ;)

I got 19 eggs in the incubator last night. I would have had 20, but I dropped one egg on the kitchen floor. :somad I put the dates they were laid on there - there were 3 days worth of eggs, and marked them with the X's and O's so I can rotate them appropriately. I don't have an automatic egg turner so I go down there and flip them 2x day. I prefer to do it that way anyway - it gets me egg-cited about hatching day! HA HA HA!

I love candling eggs. I love seeing the little chicks move inside and watching them grow. I have another incubator that I may set up in a few weeks to have 2 groups going, but I'm thinking I'll wait until after little g's bday party to have 2 groups going anyway just to lessen the risk of someone knocking over something.

Opi's udder is getting a little bigger - I sure hope she's a doe that waits til the last minute and bags up right before birth. That would mean the mounting I witness was a successful breeding and little Jack did his job. Opi was so funny when she first met Jack. She started doing back flips and jumping off trees to try and impress him. He was much younger than her - she's 2 and he was 6 mos when I introduced them. He wasn't that much smaller than her, but still had to work a little to get the angle right :p

OMG - as I was working I just switched on the Pelican Acres marestare cam and noticed the doe they put on earlier was cleaning off a kid...and there was NO ONE IN SITE! Then, as I'm leaving a message on the 2nd phone number out comes number 2!

Shortly after a person went jumping into the kidding stall. I'm not sure if they got my message and had no idea if she was in labor or if they were just watching from a distance, but OMG. My heart was racing! The doe literally had one baby on top of the other and the 2nd kid was stuck underneath the doe and the other kid.

Everyone's doing great now - they just held up baby #2 to the camera.

Oh I don't think I deserve the credit, but it's nice to think I let them know!

ETA - Phoenix Rising now has Ruffi on. They seem to put does in who kid within a day of putting them on the show!

pelican acres just had some little toddler come across the camera smilind and waiving...how cute is that!

Now - if they'd only tell me if the kids are boys or girls....

I missed it again :p I have been in and out of the house with my daughter - now that the weather is nice she want to go out every 5 minutes and can't get into the goat pen by herself.

Jav...I think Ruffi is going to kid soon. Either that or she is ticked and wants to constantly remind someone she's not happy by "maaing" every two minutes!

Well,my daughter has stripped down to a bathing suit and is playing "beach" so my guess is that Ruffian will hold those babies for about as long as a 4 year old can play a game...then no sooner than we get dressed to go outside again she will start pushing babies out

Whoa, I tuned in to a camera adjustment and it scared me! :D
