Sorry for the late day update - dang work got in the way. :/

The Big Guns came out. I realized that I'm just too nice when milking.

It went like this:

TBG shows up (It's my friend's daughter who's been milking for 10 yrs.). Fudgie's hootin and hollerin cause she's all tight and mad that I've been home for an hour and haven't paid any attention to her. After all, as soon as she saw my car she was 'on the clock'.

We get Fudgie out and she runs into the hen house for a snack...sorry Fudge, not acceptible. Drag her away as she's claiming it's her paid 15 min break and then she realizes where we're dragging her to. She runs over to the milk stand and we get her up there. She's still got to be tempted but it's not hard.

TBG milks from behind. She takes the pot - yes, I milk into a pot because I have a lid for it and I just like this pot - and puts it under Fudgie. I say "you want me to hold that just in case?"

*Smirk, giggle* "No, why?"

She takes Fudgie's legs and spreads them a bit apart, Fudgie starts nibbling on her grain and TBG gets a few squirts out to lesson the tightness.

Then, the work really starts and my eyes grew wide and mouth shuts up....

She grabs Fudgie's teats and within a blink of an eye milk's just about POURING into the pot. She's got her thumb and pointer more on the udder to bring the milk into the teats and using the remaining three fingers to get it out of the teats.

I mean, I was astounded. Milk was flowing like the Niagra....

I said "I think I'm too nice when I milk...."

Fudgie acted like nothing was going on - TBG said "Yeah - she'll tell you if it hurts, that's for sure!"

We got a quart out and still think Fudgie was holding out a little.

After we were done I just stood there, checked the clock and saw it was about 10 minutes after we had gotten her on the stand....

Man...I need to get some big girl panties for milking....got any with an udder and teats on it so I can practice?

it will be ok. just nut up and get out there baby. give her hell.
;-)

child protective services would have been called this morning when Debbie was out there stomping all around. it didnt last long. when my hubby walked by and hollered 'do you want me to hold her?' she got all big eyed and knocked it off.

Be The Boss Goat

ps when you saw your pal 'grab her udder' be sure not to grab the STRUCTURE.. you'll feel the pipes and wires and such just avoid those. this is how i usually grab Nibbles.

Hmm....NUT UP.

Big G always says that whenever he needs his pair he has to ask me first, so I think I can dig around my purse for them come milking time...

I can't wait to get my goats so I can have crazy stories like you do. It's bad enough with the chickens and the rabbits but I know it's going to get crazier once I get goats.

Yes, you will! Goats are a hoot! But they make you crazy sometimes.

Normal is for non goat owners. If you own goats, you are FAR from "normal" and besides, who wants to be like everyone else anyway?!
