You're welcome. :)

Just read the lables. Make your own tomato sauce...that sounds really good together actually. Over here you can get sustainably caught wild sardines packed in olive oil. Brand name is: "Wild Planet"

To make the scrambled spinach eggs, I just melted some bacon fat in the cast iron skillet, sauteed a handful of fresh spinach for a minute and then added the eggs and scrambled them all up together. eta: next time I'm tossing in some mushrooms
Just did a quick search and my favorite grocery store DOES INDEED carry Wild Planet Sardines.

THANKS!

Oh, and, the other brands that come in tomato sauce have Soy listed in the ingredients. this stuff is EVERYWHERE!

Thanks for the spinach and egg low down. That's what's going to be for breakfast Saturday.

I'm tossing in a recipe for those of you that can have dairy.

Crustless low carb quiche.

1 cup of real cream, preferably raw
6 eggs
bacon or sausage of choice
Cheese of choice (cheddar or pepper jack are favs here)
Cooked Vege of choice (steamed broc. and asparagus or spinach are good choices)
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook meat of choice.
Shred cheese and place in the bottom of a pie plate or square glass baking dish.
Lay meat and veges in top.
Mix eggs, cream and seasonings together. Pour into pan gently.
Bake at 350 for 1/2? and hour, or till done.
Sketchy on times, as I always forget the timer, and tend to run on feel.
Now, BB! Haven't you seen the book "Real men don't eat quiche"? I mean, ya'll have already got me making my own laundry detergent, baking, etc. I might get my man card taken away if I keep this up!

Seriously though, that does sound good!

Oh, and as to the oils for sardines, you're right. I found the ingredients of most contained veggie and/or soy oil. :sick

Gonna stick with the Wild Planet and buy some up this weekend and see if the boy likes them too.

That quiche sounds tasty :)

It wasn't the milk related to allergies. I need to suck it up, I live in the most high allergy place ever :/ 3/4 horses have bug related midline dermatitis, 3/4 dogs have flea-saliva related Santa Barbara itch, and well, we all have allergies.

My immune system took a major dive, either from not recooping after my flu a month ago or from this new diet. I get sick when starting something drastic, like Jenny Craig last year. I've been sick with a chest cold since thursday, had to work the next 4 days until Monday and now have a cold. I want bone broth soup, please, someone! :(

Okay, so I've been feeling bad--nauseated/gaggy type bad. I actually took a pregnancy test yesterday (negative :lol:) cause I felt so crappy. Went to the Y today and weighed--I've lost 10 lbs! No wonder I've felt bad. So, more veggie carbs and a little bit of fruit, and I'm still working on the raw milk. We'll start to transition to a more grain-free vs low-carb over the next few weeks. My son lost 3 lbs--finally, a loss! He was so happy. But we had a big challenge today--mil's funeral and gathering afterward, with a lot of breads/cake/cookies/brownies :( I was stoked from the scales, but my boy had a hard time and caved to some bread and cake. I told him it's okay, we'll get back to business tomorrow!

Breakfast
bacon or sausage and eggs

Lunch
veggies and ranch, cheese, meatballs (with cranberry, soy and a small amount of ketchup. I'm not a fan of cranberry, but it was great in the meatballs)

Dinner
taco salad--ground beef, onion, lettuce, tomato, avocado, olives, cheese, ranch.

I'm going to go make a quiche from bubblingbrooks recipe. Wish I had some ham, I'll use bacon I guess. Still not a big sausage fan :/

BBH - I have been reading for awhile and I just have a question or 2.

When you have eggs for breakfast, how many? Are the sausage links I get from the store ok or do I need to look for something in them? Do you have a book you recommend. I think I want to try an elimination diet and see what it is that is bothering my kids.

I think my son has a dairy issue or something. Milk and cheese and ice cream all upset his tummy. But, my daughter makes ice cream at home and he doesn't have a problem. But it is still with store bought not raw milk. My daughter has ADD and really wants to try fixing it with diet not medicine. The last medicine was horrible for her, she couldn't sleep, had upset stomach all the time and still couldn't concentrate.

What ideas for sides can you guys give me. I cook in the house so what ever I make everyone has to eat. We do have half a pig in the freezer that we bought and several of our chickens we butchered. So meat isn't really a problem. I am looking for some grass fed beef to round out our freezer.

I'm not a big morning eater, so I just eat one egg. Sam eats two and then some other protein etc if I make it.

I'm going on what my daughter's dietitian said rather than a book. I looked up Paleo diet and researched a bit. There is a good site called Mark's Daily Apple...if you join something you get his free ebooks, two cookbooks and something else on exercise.

The best kind of meat is grassfed or pastured meats...super expensive though. I raised a hog in a pasture, I buy ground bison (it is mostly pastured/grassfed), and I use some regular store bought meats.

Oh by the way, Sam's dietitian said plain old daily farm work is good enough in the way of exercise, for all of us.

Breakfast:
eggs and avocado
water

Lunch:
leftover seafood chowder
water

Dinner:
tunafish salad (with sardines mixed in) on top of a big bed of lettuce
leftover coleslaw
avocados
water

Snacks:
crispy nuts
bllueberries

I'm not the BBH, but........
I have not researched ADD at all, but I would try ditching the grains. You want sausage without nitrites or msg in it. I have big eaters in my house and I fix probably ten eggs for four people for breakfast. Although, that quiche recipe, with all that cream, six eggs will feed my honey and I breakfast for at least two, maybe three days. If you're going grain free, you don't make sides as a rule. Although if you're not worried about weight loss, would potatos be okay? I'd still give them up for a few weeks and see how things go. I'm making either a large veggie-based meal--stir fry, taco salad--or a meat and two veggies.

I'd sure go diet before meds for ADD. Good for her for being willing to give things up to feel better!
