We are getting cold early here too. This Sunday is supposed to go to the 30's. I'm gonna have a talk with the weatherman. This is not acceptable!

Yup---that was mean!

Very pretty area! Enjoy your weekend lucky lady!

All us farmers will be working hard, toiling in the dirt, feeding and fighting with critters, getting stinky.....all the while you are sauntering down your beautiful ocean path. Ugh---lucky, lucky.
Now I want a trip...

Pretty much... ;)

My daughter is taking me there, actually, as my birthday present. She and I haven't gotten away together without kids in ten years or so. I actually lived in that area for three years, so it's a wonderful gift to get to go back.

I wrote in my blog last night about the stuff I have done this week, and now I realize why I am looking forward to this so much. It's nothing like most of you guys do in half the time, but remember, I am citified.

A change of scenery is so wonderful.
Just seeing "anything" different is so relaxing for me.

That is a wonderful present...time with your daughter and time away from home. Good deal!

Sadly, I've got chickens that just started to molt a couple weeks ago. Some of them are nearly bald and the daytime temps haven't gotten out of the 40's this week, with rain and wind. I feel so sorry for them, but there's not much I can do for them. Brrrr.

I just did this with my daughter (we have almost the same birthday) last weekend.

Is your birthday now? If so, then HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (sorry I don't have any fancy birthday smilies)

Have a wonderful time!

Thanks ! It was a couple of weeks ago. This was our first free time that coincided. She is getting her Masters and this is the break between quarters for her.

We realized that we are having fond memories of trips when she was a young girl, and are recreating many of those memories...each with a suitcase full of food.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

It's cold and windy today, supposed to get down to the upper 30s tonight. The temp inside the house is 64. I'm holding out as long as I can before turning the heat pump on.

Besides, it's supposed to be warmer Monday.

Eeek! Just checked the ten day forcast. In the low to mid 30's for the next 3 nights.

Last year I did 67 at night. I just could not go lower. At 66 I swear I felt like a frozen popsicle. I guess getting older means colder bones.

But this winter I will have the propane fireplace for the whole winter and I expect it to be warmer in general--probably near 70 cause that fireplace is so toasty warm.

Daytime is no problem cause I run around alot and never sit and get cold....night means less running and I freeze

and from what I see of NC weather---and the news said "a worse cold winter is predicted"---UGH---I gotta get out the thermals also! :)
