Great with the kid and the kids!

Saanen/Oberhasli should be a good cross. Both top dairy breeds. I wonder what color they are....Maybe you could drop a buckling off when you go to OSV next time.... :D I'm already thinking about December breedings, and those two breeds would be a nice addition to the Nubian/Alpine/Boer/La Mancha thing I already have going here!!
Free, he would love to see the bucklings go home with someone. Otherwise they're going to be food. If you want me to take one or both for you and get them up to you I'm sure we could make that work. I hope to be able to go see them one afternoon this week or Saturday sometime. I'll take lots of pictures. Are you creating the newest goat breed, Heinz 57?
I can't see any issues with the cross. Maybe a little larger than pure Ober? Shouldn't make a huge difference.
Holy Goat, H23, I was kinda "kidding" buy whoa, baby, are they free? Do I have to guarantee to keep them? (Can't do that....) Shoot, so many questions coming to mind now.....It would be a great mix, and yes, I am going for Heinz 57....

I was kind of playing along but I honestly don't know. I'll let him know that someone might be interested in them. I don't think he's going to want follow up home visits or anything. I'll be up front with him and see what he says. Can't hurt to ask! And if they're free???

OK, I've had my Peach hugs and my goat therapy, and I am all calmed down now. I will wait until later in the year and get another 6-7 month old buckling in the fall, like a sensible person would. And I mean it. Really. That is what I will do. Yup. You used the word Oberhasli and "free" in the same thread and I went a little nuts. Even though the "free" had a big "maybe" attached to it. I am all calm now. Ahem.

I am so ticked off that the sun has come out. I will now have to go to Little League instead of TSC to price fencing. Phooey!

H23, I just got an e-mail from the person I bought Ginger from. He has three Nubian does in milk and a stunning spotted Nubian that is around Ginger's age (I definitely drooled over her when I picked up Ginger!) He has to move suddenly, and has to disperse everyone. Consider a doe in milk!!! Less likely to breach fencing, too. All his goats were loved and friendly. I asked him to send me prices and pics. Let me know if you want me to forward them.

Yikes!! There's no fence to breach yet!!! No hay, no goatie food, no goatie feeders, no goatie water buckets, no separate room in the coop/barn. Okay, stopping for breath. Is it true Nubians are very talkative? More talkative than other breeds so that it would make a big difference?
Okay, and I once milked a cow when I was about 7. I'm going to be 47 in July. = 0
Considering but terrified.
No longer breathing again......
Yeah, okay, forward info when you have it.....
I get all the reason why getting a doe in milk is a good idea. I do! And I think Nubians are beautiful.
OH man, DH will have a heart attack. :/
