Patience, grasshopper. You too shall join the darkside.

I bet that was supposed to be $80-$100. Proofreading helps!!
I still think I'll pass on those particular goats  I do have more patience than that!
Can I make it through the afternoon without calling the vet?? I'm hoping to have a message when I get home. If not I'll consider calling back tomorrow after work. That seems reasonable, no?

Sheesh, I sound like a preadolescent waiting for a boy to call
Anyway, the vet called back to say the goats are all still available. They are actually Oberhasli/Saanen crosses. We're not looking to show so I don't think that's a problem. We just want nice goats that can be milked. Don't need a ton of milk. There are two sets of twins, a boy and girl in each set. They'll be weaned around 5/22. He said he'd love to see any of them go to a good home (my vet called ours a good home :D ) and the boys will probably become "chops" since he doesn't really have an alternative. Kind of makes me wish I had the room for two wethers but I don't and I can't afford to feed them if they aren't giving something back other than companionship. He did not mention a price. Hmmmm, could he possibly just be looking to place them in a good home???? Nah, that would be too good to be true. Once DH is home I'll call the office and ask about going to see them.
Then it sounds like we may need to hustle and get a pen up and a wall in the barn to create a space for them indoors!
:D:D:D:D:D:D

Is it too early to :celebrate
 That would be awesome if he just wants to find them a good place :fl
It sure would! I'm not counting on it thought. I'm sure he won't be charging hundreds either though.
So what do you all think? 4 foot fencing or 6?

Kiddo update. The human kind. Had a great day at school. Got two positive behavior cards. Came home and did his homework without being asked and proceeded to sweep the living room floor without being asked. <thud>

Great with the kid and the kids!

Saanen/Oberhasli should be a good cross. Both top dairy breeds. I wonder what color they are....Maybe you could drop a buckling off when you go to OSV next time.... :D I'm already thinking about December breedings, and those two breeds would be a nice addition to the Nubian/Alpine/Boer/La Mancha thing I already have going here!!

Free, he would love to see the bucklings go home with someone. Otherwise they're going to be food. If you want me to take one or both for you and get them up to you I'm sure we could make that work. I hope to be able to go see them one afternoon this week or Saturday sometime. I'll take lots of pictures. Are you creating the newest goat breed, Heinz 57?
I can't see any issues with the cross. Maybe a little larger than pure Ober? Shouldn't make a huge difference.
