Another forum seems to have the opinion that 4' is sufficient for most goats? what do you think?
No Obers on Craigslist but I did find a Togg cross doe. $100 "friendly healthy"
No, I'm not rushing out to see her. Just looking!
Ober buckling not far. Rats.
Oh well, dinner's ready. I have had ribs on the grill all day :p

I just got my fencing from Premier!. They recommended 42". I got the electric poultry netting, so I can also keep the chickens out of the garden! But I did get a higher voltage energizer than they recommended. I figure, if I ever want to pasture these goats at FIL's place or my ex's, I need to worry about coyotes and mountain lions :ep

No mountain lions here. We haven't had a coyote close but that doesn't mean we couldn't. The yard is fenced to keep our dogs in and the neighbor dogs out but I wouldn't rely on it to keep a determined predator out. The goats will have a separate pen to keep them out of the garden, off the deck and from eating anything they shouldn't.

Lots of boar goats on Craigslist plus a few board goats and even one bored goat. All listed as dairy goats.
And lots and lots of NGD for $$$

:(
Need to shake this sad feeling. Vacation is over. No phone call about goats. My house is still messy. The meeting about DS is Wednesday am. Guess I better stress out about that instead.
:( :( :( :(
I'm having a pity party. Anybody wanna join in?

The title was the first clue: Goats $80100

I had to copy/paste, for future lurkers who may not get to enjoy that ad. I edited it for obvious reasons. Run, run fast and far! :gig

"I HAVE 3 FEMALES ALL BREEDERS AND 1 LARGE MALE ALL HAVE TO GO I AM SELLING THEM BECAUSE I HAVE 2 THAT I RAISED FROM BABIES AND THEY R SCARED TO DEATH OF THEM THESE GOATS I AM SELLING HAE HORNS AS MINE DONT IF INTERESTED THE PRICE IS FIRM EMAIL ME AT @LIVE.COM OR CALL AND LEAVE MESSAGE.THANKS"

The price is firm? Do these goats poop gold nuggets?

I was just reading the book on organic farming and it stated that people run boar goats with cattle to prevent pink-eye in the cattle. It explained that boar goats are large male goats!

As for your house being messy......remember this, remember it well: Creative minds are rarely tidy!

Now for some chocolate...

I looked at the ad too. The only thing I could think was that I would never buy a critter from someone that seems to be having a major ID-10-T error.

They'd better poop gold nuggets AND do housework for that price. The owner most likely doesn't hold a job in sales, huh?

Back at work. 36 days after today. Not that I'm counting......
It's not too bad. DS didn't want to go to school.
I had a dream last night that at first I thought was related to the goats or my birds. There were two dogs circling the perimeter of our yard. They were almost pure white with silvery tips to their fur. I thought they might be wolf hybrids (really common here in CT  ) They were starting to challenge the fence. Now there were no actual goats in the dream so I'm not sure but when I woke up and later was talking to DS over breakfast I thought maybe I had actually been feeling like taking him to school today was like throwing him to the wolves. I was definitely feeling like creatures I care for were being threatened. I was debating letting the dogs out to scare them off. I 'm sure our pug would have done a great job~
dreams.....
