Her mama liked me. She kept sniffing me for treats. She sniffed right in my face. The little guy was too busy until the vet's wife scooped him up. Then he was all snuggles.ohiofarmgirl said:

That is normal, especially for dam-raised kids. You will tame them soon enough, when you are the food source, not mama. I have to scoop Peach up, under protest, then she snuggles right in. Most of the time.
She runs up to me, then when I reach out, she dashes off. It is part of the game. Bedtime is snuggle time, and I'm in mine and she's in hers....
Ginger was like that when I visited her at Paul's, but when I brought her home, she very quickly became very attached. It just took a few days....less, really, but we REALLY bonded by the end of that first week. My smoochie girl is still my smoochie girl!
She runs up to me, then when I reach out, she dashes off. It is part of the game. Bedtime is snuggle time, and I'm in mine and she's in hers....

Oh, you are going to have so much fun! And in between fun times, you will be cussing me and everyone else who talked you into it. Then you will have lovely cheeses and milk and kefir and all kinds of lovely goodies and you will have fun. Then you will have to milk late in the cold sleet after a late game or meeting or gig or whatever and you will be cussing me...er....us... out again. Hee-hee-hee!!!!!

You know, I think DH was resigned to getting the goats more than he was sold, until he realized they could clear the poison ivy in the back corner of the yard. Now he's all excited.
