H23, as with any vegy or fruit, homegrown tastes waay different than storebought. We cannot eat storebought asparagus any more. We rather wait for our own crop each spring and eat nothing but asparagus for a month to get our fill for the year. I find that freezing them isn't worth while either. Somehow I haven't managed to make them come out right. So I don't try anymore.

As a person who has Star Trek: DS9 on in the background right now, I shall have to disagree with the "too many" bit about nerds.

I suspect there are a lot of closet nerds out there in the general population, it just shows more here because we all fly our geek flags high 'n proud...
Oh I just thought I Would stop in and check on your dishwasher. After reading the past few pages is seems there is a going trend. Buying from Lowe's and ending up bringing home something that doesn't work.

FD neighbor got a bunk tractor
OFG tiller
my faucet
your dishwasher

Whats up with that?

Blueberries, I wish I could get some to grow!!! :drool

Free, I am sure if you buy a stove there and have any problems they will take it back. LOL They seem to be really good at that part. I would just mention when you buy it that if there are any problems will THEY come and replace in for free. For Free, ha that sounds funny!!

What is probably "up" is that all of those items are now made in China and designed for our throw away society. :( :rant

Shoot, I was gonna check out Lowes for a gas stove.....
When I recently bought a gas stove I was very disappointed in ALL that was offered. They all require electricity to even work!! Some CAN be lit on the burner with just a match, but none of them had an oven that would work without electric current.

Did not make me happy. Plus the last one I bought lasted about 3 years!!!!!!! :somad It was a pricey Maytag with sealed burners and the burners began to rust and that caused gas leaks. More expensive to fix that to buy new. This time I paid for the extended warranty. :sick :rant

Free, tell them you want to see it work, before you buy it. and then take the one that you know works home with you.

I don't think it is Lowes that is at fault, but the manufacturers as Farmfresh stated :/

Lowes must loose a lot of money, dealing with poorly made products
