Soooo, it is my second to last Friday of the school year!! 5 days next week, then 2.5 and we're done. I'm so excited, probably even more this year than ever. SO much fun to be had in our own backyard.
Next Thursday I am taking a personal day to go with DS on his class field trip to Mystic Aquarium. Friday he has Field Day so little classroom time. Last day is hardly a work day. He basically has 5 days left with his teacher. She's been out all week except Tuesday. There's a nasty stomach bug raging through the schools. I am washing my hands like mad trying to avoid it. I started last summer off sick and do not want to again. I also need to avoid whatever it is DH has. I am so irritated that he went to the walk-in clinic yesterday. They of course put him on anti-biotics even though he tested negative for strep. He didn't tell me that part until this morning. Ugh. He is working hard to finish up projects with his students and get ready for his hovercraft race in two weeks and refuses to stay home. I'm kind of hoping he goes to the nurse for Tylenol and she takes one look at him and sends him home. :barnie
I have 2 more days at the HS and one of them is a final exam day. Crunch time. My student who had been suspended was supposed to be back at school today. But I am at the other school so I didn't think I would see him. Something changed and he showed up yesterday, even came up to my room without me looking for him. My supervisor gathered all the work that he missed because of course he did nothing for 10 days, and he has promised to spend every study hall in there doing as much as he can so he has a prayer of passing the year. so frustrating.
Still no word on a pick up time for Donki. :(

I am packing up and leaving for the day. I'm going home to let the dogs out, change my clothes and shoes, meet my mom, pick up my dad and head to the vet's house to get my babies. I'm about to be a goat owner. I have butterflies!!!! :bun

Meet Daisy and Thomas (we think). I'm thinking the nylon collars need to come off.
They were surprisingly calm on the way home. They were in their pen for about two minutes and then both peed. They didn't make any mess in the car. I've heard a couple of little noises, nothing loud.
We got them in the pen and the first thing I noticed was that someone has pitched a tent in my neighbors' backyard near our fence. Now this neighbor always tells me she can't really hear the rooster with the fan going in the house. Whoever is visiting is about to find out that roosters crow at 3:30 am. At least mine does. :p
Who knows what the goats are going to do when that happens???

8 weeks and 2 days.
Got an email from Donki's owner. I get to come get her this weekend. I'm so happy I'm near tears! I can't wait to get her here. :love I'm on the phone with her owner right now. We're meeting him at 2:00 tomorrow. YAY!!!!!!!

Thank you!!
We ate dinner on the deck looking out at them. They're crying a little for attention.
The closest neighbor, the one that freaked out in my dream, spotted them while doing yard work. DS was out there and she called over to him, "What have you got over there?" in a really friendly voice. So he told her and DH invited her over to meet them. She loved them. They were still quiet then. She knows Donki is coming. So while she thinks I'm insane she is fine with it all. Not sure about the group of HS students camping out in her backyard this weekend.... they've been warned. It's supposed to rain. She expects they'll end up on her living room floor.

Thanks!!! They are tucked in for the evening with some grain, fresh water and hay. The chickens are totally ticked off that they can't get in there. DS won't come in. He wants to sleep with them. He is in :love
