Have I mentioned DS can not be taught a thing before he is darn good and ready to learn it. Then he does it like he's been doing it all his life. He's had a two wheeler since he was 5. Wouldn't, couldn't get the hang of riding it without training wheels. Outgrew the bike without learning!! So we finally had to get him a larger bike. It didn't come with training wheels. He's been working on it in the backyard, crashing into the duck pool, the day lillies, etc. Tonight DH took him to the local park and let him loose. It's all over now!

:gig DS never really thought he was in any trouble which explains the smirk on his face. The officer drove up and suggested the picture when he saw what we were up to. He was doing a routine drive through of the park.

I was getting embarassed for him. Now there's no stopping him. Guess I'll be dusting off my own bike finally too. We've got a great paved trail here in town.

Forgot to mention I found a pick your own farm that has red and black currants. It's not too bad a drive up 395 in Thompson. I think if I can get a friend to go with me I'll go up next week. I called today and got a real old swamp Yankee farmer on the phone. :gig Should be fun! And I won't have to wait to make jelly and...... whatever it is one does with currants! :weee

Sounds good! I was thinking there's some cordial (sp) type thing I have recipe for somewhere.
I started a batch of Limoncello tonight. The zest of 8 lemons soaking in vodka for two weeks. Then a simple syrup with added lemon juice is added and it sits for 6 more weeks to mellow. I froze the juice from the lemons because it got too late to do anything with it tonight. My kitchen smells of garlic and lemon!

Took two of the three dogs to the vet this morning. Now we knew the Golden had a hot spot on his face. Well it turned out to be all over his throat too. He had to be sedated and shaved and cleaned and given a steroid injection, antibiotics, :duc plus his routine vaccincations. Several hundred dollars later............ :hit
I feel awful that it got so bad but it wasn't this bad two days ago when I noticed it. I tried to get him in sooner but they didn't have anything available anyway. My poor puppy. :hit
DH is on the phone with a tech ed teacher from another town. The guy is retiring and his job will be posted on Monday. DH's former coworker (of about 26 years) wants him to apply. He works there now. The head of the science department there used to work at DH's current school and wants him to apply. There's a hundred reasons he should apply. He's been at the same school for 29 years. The school serves 3 towns, one of which has been trying to pull out. There is no guarantee that DH will be able to retire there the way he always planned. Of course there's no guarantee he'd get the position but he's actually going to apply. This is huge for Mr. Allergic to change. If he was to get it his commute would increase dramatically but not unreasonably. It takes him 7 minutes on back roads to get to work now.... Pay increase would be dramatic too. This is a relatively newly built school as opposed to his current school which was designed and built by drugged out hippies in the late 60s. (I'm not entirely joking. The school is shaped like a crescent moon and library is a star-as seen from above.....)
terrifying and exciting all at the same time.

OMG What a great picture!
Yay for your little man!
DD is still not fully riding her bike either, but she's making progress.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog! Poor thing(s)! You did say two right? What happened to the other one?

Good luck to your DH!
