The other dog, thankfully, wasn't due for anything. This visit was supposed to just be for vaccines.
I'm really glad he's learn to ride the bike finally, really, I am! But now he won't STOP :barnie :p
We do live on a fairly quiet dead end street but I'm not ready to let him loose just yet. We're trying to get everything ready for our Cub Scout camp out tomorrow. It's not getting done. Good thing it's almost bedtime!

I left DH and DS at the Cub Scout camp out and came home to do the chores as my dad would say. I fed the dogs and let them out, fed the cats, locked up all the birds, fed the goats, milked Donki and got them all tucked in for the night. Strained and chilled the milk, cleaned the equipment and got everything set up for the morning milking, also solo. I need to be back at the camp ground at 8am for breakfast.
After that we're off to my college roomates graduation party. She just finished her LPN training after leaving college 1000 years ago to care for her parents. We'll be beat but can't miss that!

Totally beat. One of the dogs woke me up at 4:20 and I never did get back to sleep. I did all the chores solo then went back to the campground for breakfast with the Cubs. I think they all slept better than I did! I helped with clean up and then we headed home so the boys could shower and dress for the graduation party.
Slept the whole way to MA and the whole way back and I could still sleep right now. It's hot and muggy. Blech.
The party was in my friend's church hall. No a/c. We kept the lights low and big fans were blowing through open doors so it was better than being outside. It was good to see her and all 4 of her brothers and their wives and kids. Kind of like a family reunion for them. DS had fun playing with the kids.
I'm looking forward to Monday to catch up around here. I've got so much milk to deal with!! I should get a batch of yogurt going tonight and then several cheeses tomorrow. I'm going to be hunting for a second fridge soon....
DH has filled out the online application for the teaching job at the other school. A first in 28 years.

Thanks, I'm trying to make it routine. This weather is killing me. Although DH pointed out we are still waiting for the Lyme screen results and that could explain some of my exhaustion. I have no idea how long it will take until I know something.
My house is a mess. And I have no energy to do anything about it.
I'm hoping the humidity drops soon. I have tentative plans to pick currants with a friend on Tuesday afternoon. Possibly gooseberries too, although I haven't got the slightest clue if they're in season. I'm calling ahead to the farm to confirm what they've got available.

Not that I really thought I'd be sleeping in this morning....
DH got up at 5:30 and did his thing around the house. At 6:30 he was out of the shower and getting dressed when I was awakened by a commotion in the chicken coop. At first I chalked it up to "I layed an egg, oh look, an egg!!" excitement but after a second or two it just didn't sound right. So DH went down to check it out. He found three chickens in the yard and two goats in the chicken coop. All doors closed. Hmmmmm. Well, as my brain started to engage I asked him if he had remembered to put the clip through the latch between the coop and goats' stall. Oops. Well, that explained that. He figures Donki got a half a mouthful of chicken feed and Daisy got a bonk on the head when she tried. I'll watch them today anyway. As for the chickens getting out, I figure that one out too. I told DH to check the window panes because a goat had probably jumped against one and popped it out. Sure enough, there outside the coop was a pane of glass, unbroken lying on the ground! So he got that back in place. Darn used windows! We got two chickens back in the pen but one was in the woods on the wrong side of the yard fence. DH grabbed a big net and went and got her. Vanessa is one of my EEs and a great flyer. She probably flew right out that window and over that fence. Why is it they can't figure out how to fly back over?
So at that point I got dressed and started freshening up everyone's water, got the goats fresh hay and maple branches and milked the Donkster. I cut back on their grain for this morning figuring they didn't need more on top of the chicken feed.
Then Donki bonked Thomas and he screamed. His little horn that is trying to regrow is bleeding. He's got a little trickle of blood going down his face. His white face. Halloween goat! :barnie
I'm here for the day keeping an eye on everyone.
It's hot and humid and disgusting again. I have the bedroom a/c on really low so I have a refuge. I'll be making yogurt and cheese in a minute. We should have storms later that are expected to break the humidity for a few days. Even though it will be in the high 80s tomorrow I'm hoping it will be comfortable enough to go pick currants at the farm I found. Wednesday is supposed to be much cooler, in the 70s, a good day for doing something with the currants.
All in all, I did sleep much better than I expected. After a long nap in the car, both ways, a cup of coffee instead of cake at the party(oh the food discussion with my BFF was not fun) I didn't think I'd sleep at all but I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow. I'm anxiously awaiting my blood test results. :fl

Awwww! Sorry you feel so icky :(

We were lucky enough to get some cloud cover this weekend, but it was still sticky. Humidity stinks!
Thanks.
Honestly it's a little better than it was this weekend. Even in the kitchen over the cheese making with a ceiling fan going it isn't bad. I wouldn't want to be working outside though. There is a nice breeze however. Blowing in the storm. I think we're expected to get thunderstorms around 2 pm.
DS is complaining of being bored because I won't let him watch TV all day. I had offered to take him to the CT Science Center but he declined earlier. Now that he's borend he's asking to go and I'm in the middle of other things. Oh well. Live and learn kiddo.
I'm just moving slow. I figure I've got no pressure to get anything done. If I move slowly and get a little bit done that's better than nothing. :)

I'm tired, the rash on my legs is getting better and my Lyme screen was negative. I'm fighting a cold. My throat is a little achy, my nose is a little stuffy, I'm tired. I'm coughing. Blech.
This morning I turned on the computer and it started right up. The monitor however came on and immediately went black. The computer was still running so I connected the monitor from our old computer. It works fine so it's definitely the monitor. Phooey. This one is soooo tiny! I'm spoiled I guess.
I begged off on picking currants with my friend today. Not up to it. It was still pretty hot. Tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous. We're going to try when she gets done with teaching summer school at noon. I've got to get the dog licenses and bottle of champagne before we go. It's my 20th anniversary tomorrow. We are going to a BYO-bottle lobster restaurant on the Mystic River. We'll probably go to the beach when DH gets out of work and then head to dinner afterwards. I hope I don't feel any worse than I do today.
I really need to head to bed.
