I KNEW all those Leggo sets I bought when the kids were little were missing something. Now I know what it was, pickles!

I went on a Walmart pilgrimage tonight. :sick Needed a new mouse for the computer.

Our forecast is for freezing rain and then for Monday night more snow. Now THAT is the Missouri that I love. A nice thick coating of ICE covering everything and then the snow.

This is the winter that will not end.

More coming Tuesday?????? More snow?????????? :he :barnie
Yup, that's right, another storm due on Tuesday then a second on Wednesday that will be messier with sleet and rain and junk.

My Pinewood Derby car did horribly!! I wasn't even good enough to get the last place trophy. I came in 19th out of 20 cars. :hide DH's car modeled after our hovercraft came in 12th, with its propellor spinning!

This afternoon were back for the Scouts Derby. DS came in 1st last year and we had to really bring him down to earth that it wasn't likely to happen again. He came in 12th out of 41 cars. At first he was really disappointed but he held it together. This was the first year we didn't have anyone melt down when their car wasn't the fastest. They gave $5 Walmart gift cards to the fastest car from each den and DS was the fastest of our Bear den so he at least came home with that. Yay, a trip to Walmart in my future.... :sick
A couple of years ago, those derby events were not something I looked forward to. DS always waited until the last moment, and it was nearly always an epic fail. The last year, he forgot where he put the kit, and we went with the "in-vi-so-car" :D

He didn't win any races, but got an award for "most original" :)

I'll have to tell that one to the father of one of my Bears. They were the inviso-family because his boys never finished their cars. It really is amazing how close the times are no matter whether a car took hours and obviously had Dad or Mom's help or is a sanded (maybe) block of wood that a Tiger Cub scribbled all over with magic marker.
I am up but staying home. My stomach has been bothering me all night. Everyone is else is fine so far. It feels stomach buggy though rather than something I ate. As soon as I put DS on the bus I'm going back to bed.

Thanks Deb. I'm tired. My throat hurts. I have no appetite. I'll live.
I am able to sit up at least which means I got to read and knit. I've finished the gusset on my sock and I'm now knitting furiously away at the main part of the foot. Then I'll get to tackle the TOE which is not as complicated as the HEEL. I've actually done toes before when I made tube socks. So I at least have TOE experience whereas the HEEL was completely new to me. What a mysterious thing that was, the way a few decreases caused this weird bend and my sock suddenly turned 3 dimensional and looked like something that might go on a foot someday. Still not sure whose foot, but a foot nonetheless!

Feel better Hen! Luckily (??) you might not have school tomorrow or Wednesday so you'll have a few days to rest up.

Hard to know what to wish for anymore!! It looks like it could be just a delay on Wednesday. Ideally we'd have an early closing tomorrow and a delay on Wednesday but I doubt that will happen. The bus companies are already unhappy with their drivers out on these treacherous roads. We shall see!
