He's just got a snotty cold but he gets so distracted by his drippy nose that I kept him home for some extra rest . He won't get much done in class knowing him. We'll go pick up work later if we need to. He's got a book to read for a book report. He can put some time in on that.
I will be decluttering and knitting and reading. Ha! Like I'll get much done. He's not sleepy so I'll play games with him etc.
The town is trimming trees around the power lines on our street. They came at 7am. I was up. If I hadn't been I think I would have jumped straight out of bed! Nothing like an unexpected chain saw in your front yard!
Spent waaay too much time watching live kidding cams yesterday afternoon! Need to go hug my own goats....

I have one down too. Seems like a virus, nothing terrible so far.
It was fun watching the kidding cams, wasn't it?

I hate to confess I like being home with him if he's not toooo sick! I let Donki out so she could eat without being locked in the barn for a change. I left her on a path near the hay shed to go fill a water bucket. She decided to follow me! By the time I realized it she was about to climb the deck stairs to the kitchen door. Silly girl. We spent some time together and watching the tree trimmer guys. they're right across the street now. We have a huge twin trunked hemlock next to the house. The power lines from the road go through its branches. I'm wondering they're going to swing their bucket over that way and trim some of it. Not so far. I'd really love it if they'd come take it down. It isn't partiicularly healthy looking and casts a ton of shade on that side and the front yard. We can't afford to pay someone to do it and it's way too big for DH to do.
My maple is safe, the power lines don't go anywhere near it. They may trim a few branches that are near the road but I doubt it.

I think that's part of it. Two more days and we get our 4 day weekend. Both are paid holidays for me so I'll get paid for a full week. I wouldn't have been paid for the three days we had to give back. So it helps make up for all those unpaid snow days.
This cold is going around Windham I guess. I got a message to call the nurse yesterday. He'd been to her office several times complaining. She said they all have it. He just isn't good about working through it. So a day off to rest won't kill him. We won't tell her he's out chopping ice off the deck....

My goats love me!! The tree guys just did the white pine across the street. I snagged several large branches for the goats to nibble on. The guys think I'm NUTS. :hide oh well! It smells like Christmas out there!

Haha! I am a hero!! DS just received a package of "mini-pops" in the mail. Mini-pops are popped sorghum! He misses popcorn more than any other food on earth. He is a happy happy boy. We found it at WF but the only variety they carry is covered in cheddar cheese powder. I ordered plain sea salt from their website. Decadent? Maybe a little. Shipping wasn't too bad. It's light anyway! Tastes like popcorn. It's just really tiny! I ordered seeds to try to grow our own. Now I know it will be worth the effort.
