So my romantic Valentine's evening will be a Cub Scout meeting.... Maybe I should have them make construction paper and doily valentines for their moms....
Maybe not.
Fun day at the HS. Most of my kids were fine. The hallways were insane. Valentine's Day was on a Sunday last year, my first year working there, so maybe I didn't notice all the nonsense. Man, what a bunch of annoying jerks we have. I know, I sound like a broken record.... my day ended when a student who was just hanging out in the Spanish class across the hall decided to throw his broken pen against my door. It, of course, exploded ink all over the floor. And my door was open so it was all over MY floor as well as the hall. As he slinked away the teacher suggested he clean it up. His comment, "Why the ___ should I clean it up?" Well, why the heck should I??? But I did, because if we'd waited until a custodian was able to get there an entire class would have march through it. I'll spare further rant. You can imagine...
It is warm! Like over 45* warm!! High winds expected tonight though. Don't like that at all!
Tomorrow should be interesting at work. We have a consultant coming in to observe the bilingual pathologist's kindergarten student that I also work with. I am walking on eggshells these days because I don't feel her therapy plan is appropriate for him. My supervisor, who is not his therapist, believes I'm right, but it isn't my place to blatantly tell her she's wrong. So I've been asking questions as a way of suggesting other ways of doing things. I'm interested to see what the consultant has to say. I'm not looking forward to working with him with a room full of people though. It's going to be a long morning!

It is 48 degrees here as well. :weee

Funny how 48 is now shirt sleeve weather. :gig

We had a pretty good day today with our little kiddos. For them Valentines is all about trading cards and candy. Our big deal event was they got to ice cookies and decorate them.

We are home tonight as well. Homemade GF pizza for us old lovers. :)

It was funny, all the kids came out of DS's school in their winter coats and promptly started telling the parents picking them up that they were hot and why did they have to wear them, blah blah. Of course we were all standing there with no coats on so who were we to argue.
Cub Scouts was actually fun for a change. Because of the two particular boys who didn't come actually. One is a whiny cling to his mom kind of kid and the other is a wild child who drives me nuts. Tonight I just had DS, the really good kid and the space shot and the passive aggressive one.

I hope your day went better than you thought!

bummer that it's cold again, but I'm happy it's supposed to warm up again towards the end of the week.

My driveway is a mess - goes from having to go mud-bogging in 4 wheel drive to going slower than molasses so you don't slide on the ice luge. Ugh - reminds me of why I hate the transition from winter to spring.

Well, it did and it didn't. The student we were to meet about didn't come to school. And since the focus of the meeting was to be on observations to be made this morning it wasn't much of a meeting. We rescheduled for Thursday afternoon, but I will be at the other school and won't get there until the last half hour.
The rest of the day went okay until 1:15 when a traveling opera company came and put on a show. Not that that is a bad thing, it jsut means I couldn't see my kids and had to do paperwork instead. I did get a chuckle when one of my 3rd graders told me the Oprah show was coming today!

Oprah, opera, I can see how a kid could get that confused.

Oh that is the truth Dace!! I forgot my subject line still read Oprah! If you read back, I actually did watch Oprah the other day, something I almost never do! Coincidence!
