Hey Hen :)

I am going to take a drop spindle class soon! The lady is looking at Friday evenings at the Farmer's Market and I have to pick up my milk then anyway cuz I work weekends again, now.

There's a lot of people who just enjoy causing trouble. I'm glad the instructor wasn't fooled.

There's a girl in my CNA class who has to know something about everything and it's funny because she isn't exactly a know it all, she just has to have a story to tell. She's really annoying though because she also likes to be very rude and blame it on things like having a bad day. :hu

I have Wed/Thurs off now! And am half way through school so hopefully soon I'll have an entirely different job to complain about. hah.

The Hartford situation gets discussed a lot in our system. We're not exactly in same boat but we're close. Even though we are a much smaller city we get compared to Bridgeport and Hartford. Not sure what is truth out there and what isn't. In Windham or Hartford!
I'll keep the pony lease in mind. If there's more than one of us interested that could be a possibility. Of course I'm too new around there to really know what her motivation for selling is. She has a 6 year old daughter and this guy is just the right size. But her daughter doesn't seem to ride. And the only person I could ask would be the gossipy woman that I can't trust!
Glen, you nailed it. Stirring the pot and creating drama is exactly what it's all about for her. I'll just have to stay on my toes and watch what I say around her.
Abi, very cool about the drop spindle!! I took a one day class with my sheep owning friend and loved it but didn't stick with it. I really need to!

So......have you even asked about how much this gal wants for the pony? I mean, I've said NO HORSES......read: HORSES ;)

I definitely won't have milk this year to spare unless Fudgie decides to blast out some serious lactation. So far it's lookin like slim pickins.

BUT - seriously, if you're up earlier than 9am Saturday looking for stuff to do you, DH and DS are more than welcome to come over!

Aaaaaannndd....if you happen to drive past that farm on dead man's curve rt 169 and you see some saanans.....

Doesn't matter what you say, she'll do what she wants to even if she has to invent. Best thing is to be your charming, honest self that naturally encourages others to seek you out for confirmation :)

Sigh, you're right Abi! TG the farm owner knows this about her too.
Hmmm, before 9 on a Saturday......... that could be tough!
She's asking $3200 for the pony. Guess what our federal tax return is? Almost to the dollar. But of course, boarding and vet care don't even factor into that number. We're content just taking lessons for now. Should our situation change and we are able to buy a place with more land I'd consider a pony purchase in a heart beat.
I'm sooooo missing having enough milk for yogurt and cheese. I'm seriously trying to figureout how to sneak another goat in milk over here.....

Abi - you did say it to the T.

And $3200.....I'm in the wrong business. Just kidding! Big G has said he wouldn't mind horses but I'm adamant about NO HORSES. Ponies, donkeys, etc....OK. But NO HORSES.

On a lighter note, guess what arrived today?!?!?!

The Anise essential oil!

Very cool! Wish the next few weeks weren't so nuts! I'm so behind here at the house and there's somewhere to be everyday. I forgot I have a thing at church all morning Saturday. I should probably find out when that starts........

Yeah...I'd say so! But honestly, we agreed on 9 or 10 am so I'm not positive about when they'll actually be coming over.

Of course, you're more than welcome whenever!!!

If you're not busy and want to take a trip to Vernon with me I'm game too. There's Nubians there so you won't be as tempted.

But we can always drive by the farm on 169 so you can see the other 2 Saanans available...:)

Hehehe, we could do that! My Donki is a Nubian and I said I didn't want one before I got her though.... anything in milk at this point is going to tempt me. :/

$3,200.00!!!! :ep :th

The thing had darned better sing, dance and do the dishes for that price!!

You can buy DEAD broke show ponies all day long for about $1,000.00 in these parts. Regular old lesson ponies are running about $200.00 AND a friend of mine saw a registered Hackney pony with show bloodlines and started to drive SELL for $25.00 at an auction recently. People are out of work and paying horse board is at the bottom of their list.
