The internal part of the surgery was oozing as the vet put it. He didn't find any major compromise to the incision in there. I should have listened a little better but after I heard he made it through surgery I lost some of the details. He does have the swollen leg wrapped to keep the fluid from causing any damage there. I'll fill in the gaps tomorrow when I check in with him.
I had to oddest reaction earlier. Now, I used to work for a veterinary clinic and for part of the time my vet worked there too. So I have assisted him in lots and lots of surgeries. Very briefly I had this feeling that if it wasn't my dog, this would have been really cool to assist with. I haven't had any desire to assist in surgery in a long time. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it most of the time. Just not with my own pets. Although I did help spay one of my cats.

Man you have had a day!
Yeah, it is just hitting me now....
We were at the vet's office both Wednesday and Thursday after school. Yesterday was a lot of worrying and 2 trips to the house during the work day to check on him. It really is a relief that he will stay at the clinic today for observation, as much as I miss him!
I think I can get through today, I think I can!

He'll be at the vet clinic at least another 36 hours. He's doing okay, no swelling today. He's still getting IV fluids and anti biotics. As far as he can tell something inside was trickling blood and it pooled in his empty scrotum then the surrounding tissue reacted creating all that fluid. It wasn't a raging infection. I think we would have ended up there at some point. He still has a drain in place and it will stay there for another day. Best case is he comes home Sunday. I miss him like crazy but at least he's where they can keep an eye on him and I can get somethings done tomorrow. I will be going to the CT Sheep and Wool festival for at least a little while. I can go to DS's first baseball game. I can go to the nursery for a couple of blueberry bushes and another red currant. DH has overbooked his weekend again and I have no idea if I will get any help building the raised beds or installing the garden fencing. His band is playing tonight so nothing is happening now.

aww poor Indy! Glad they seem to have gotten things taken care of for him. I know the exhaustion you feel - nothing like worrying all night about a sick dog.

Thanks guys! :hugs I have been a basket case at work all week. Yesterday was the worst. We had a pep rally in the morning which worked to my benefit because I went home to check on the dog. I went back at lunch time which was when I saw how much worse he was. When I was at school I was worried about what I would find when I went home. It is such a relief to have him where he can be monitored and cared for. Of course Monday I'll probably drive home at least once to check or bribe my mom to do it since she works just down the hill and usually will have time to at least drive up and check. We'll probably have to put his crate back up for when we're not home. He hates it and tears up his nose trying to push the door open. I wish there was another way to confine him.

I was bad and cancelled haircut appointments so DS could make up the riding lesson we had to miss yesterday. It was a beautiful day and we were the only ones there. Great therapy! I got some pictures of the mini donkey. He is so sweet and followed us around like a puppy. But he did let out one loud bray when we left his pen and proved I could never have one here. My neighbors put up with a lot and that would put them over the edge!
Something is going on with the former coworker who was telling lies about things I'd said about the farm owner. I saw some FB replies to a post that seems to not be there any more. Something about this woman's horse no longer being at the farm and her daughter not riding. I didn't get any details so I don't know if she was asked to leave or if they have to sell the horse or what. He was still at the barn today. She also posted to pull her daughter from the next show. Which frees the pony up for DS to ride if he chooses to do walk/trot.

I'm a carb overload from not one but two Redbridge GF beers. aaaaaaaaaaaaah!
