So there's a couple fo guys from NYC in my yard. They are filming DH for a TV show. He had to stand on my peeling front porch next to my rusty milk can and say Bigger Badder Better or something like that which is the complete antithesis of his personality. DS and my mom had to chase the rooster around to keep him from crowing. More later. We're headed to the lake to watch them film him flying. This too bizarre for words...

I snuck some pictures of them filming him flying his hovercraft on a local lake. They're using it for a pilot for a show they're calling Bigger Badder Better or something like that. It's about people who make cool stuff, loosely anyway. I'm not exactly sure what channels they're planning to pitch the show to, but it will be interesting to see what happens. DH has been on local TV talking about his hovercraft program at school but these guys just wanted him and our craft which is bigger badder and better than the school built crafts. Pics after I eat something which right now could be anything!!!!

It was cool and a little Twilight Zone at the same time. So DS and I followed them to the lake and stayed in the background. It was neat watching them figure out what shots they wanted and how to get them. Both guys were quite a bit younger than us although the camera man, who was from France, was talking about riding the big hovercrafts from France to England in the 80s. THey were very much fish out of water out here in eastern CT! Anyway, it's all very cool watching this process for a possible national TV show and then some local drunk yahoo walks up and starts chatting them up. I swear it happens everytime we have the hovercraft out! I don't know if it's being near the water or what, but that thing, or the ones DH builds with his students, they attract drunks. So they got the shots they wanted, we lead them back to the main road and they are headed back to Manhattan. My rooster can now crow, my neighbor can mow his lawn (oops, it started to rain!) and I can walk my poor swollen dog in his big plastic collar without worrying about showing up in the background of a shot!

But just think of how cool it would have been for us to have that stuff in the background!

Well, when it airs we'll be listening closely and you can all see my front door! Hopefully they filmed around the pile of leaves I raked out of the front garden but never got to the compost pile!
