Your DH seems so involved with your son, I am surprised that HE did not want to be the Scout leader. Then there would have been less problems with the other guys.

Glad you survived the trip!

He's involve with DS in scouts but the age level is not his thing. one 9 year old of our own is one thing. A group of them, not so much. And then consider that we started when DS was in first grade. Definitely out of DH's comfort zone. He has a hard time not talking to them like they're some of his HS students. He's also involved in too many other things that this would have been too much. So he does the one on one parent stuff with DS while I'm the den leader. Does that make sense?
And he thinks the other guys are control freaks too. He's even more laid back than I am when comes to being part of the group. The one benefit is that they really don't understand how useful he is so they don't take advantage of his handiness the way some groups we've been part of do. He gets to decide what he wants to be involved with instead of constantly being volunteered.

Hi, Hen!

Not much to miss! :D

Glad you had a fun weekend! And that you survived sleeping under the stars, but I think a good nights sleep in a bed is just AWESOME!

I spent the weekend at Mt. Hope, Rogers, and then Mt. Hope again!

Still meeting myself coming and going, and missing some sleep! :gig

Hey QA thanks for stopping by! It's a busy time of year and I do enjoy all the things I'm doing but I'm so tired!!! And behind on home stuff so struggling not to stress about that.

I so hear you about a good night's sleep. I went to bed at 6:30 last night, and got up at 6:00 this morning. And, I'm still tired!

I'll be in bed not long after dinner tonight and up at 5. I'll be exhausted all day too. But NO Scouts tomorrow night and no baseball game. I am picking up DS after school and meeting DH at the big theater in Manchester to see Pirates of the Caribbean in 3D!

I'm not caught up on my sleep from the weekend either. I would like to go take a nap, but still A LOT of stuff to do outside yet.

Yup, a lotta stuff to do inside too. A nap would make it hard for me to sleep later so I'll have to pass on that. Although if I sit still too long it may not be optional!

Basically, that's what happened to me last night. I got on here, and found myself falling asleep. So, I figured I'd close my eyes for just a few minutes-and went out like a light.

Since we had a Monday afternoon/evening free we splurged and took DS to see Pirates of the Caribbean at the IMAX theater in Manchester. Fun!! We've only seen the other movies on DVD. Nice break from all this rain.
19 days left, can that be right???? 4 this week. 4 next week. 2 full weeks in June=10 more. Then our last Monday. That adds up to 19. wow
I'm starting my what I want to do this summer list. Cheap and close to home. There's a geocaching class at the Museum of Natural History. Maybe the instructor can help me get over my intimidation of DH's handheld GPS. It makes me stupid! Too complicated even with the printed out instruction manual. Anyway, if I can get it figured out, now that I have my outdoor Scout leader training done, I can take my Scouts out geocaching with me. It's now a merit badge for the BS.
We're limiting DS to one horse show a month. It's ticking him off but we've got to keep control over it. Especially this time of year. Next year we can try to save up during the colder, non show months so he might be able to do more. But for now, it's one a month.
Oh, do any of you know of the author Wally Lamb? He wrote She's Come Undone and I Know This Much Is True among others. He lives one town over in the neighborhood where our friend who just passed away lives. Well, he is popping up on my suggested friends list on Facebook! Because a few other friends of mine actually know him. I've never met him but DH has met his dog... long story.
Okay, exhausted and rambling. Nighty night!
